Hey, guys.  I'm currently looking for the stock suspension from an 02-07 impreza/wrx.  Looking to try them on my 2005 Forester and see how well they ride.  Let me know what you got!  I prefer strut/spring/top hat still together and not clunking or leaking.

Will do! I need it to warm up before I tackle the install. Not having a garage sucks big time in the winter.

Picked up a used set of Tsudo UEL headers, Tsudo full catback exhaust used along with a Cobb intake for the Forester.

Just ordered a pair of Moog outer tie rod ends, front and rear sway bar endlinks, and ball joints.  Still on the hunt for a passenger side steering knuckle/axle housing.

Still on the fence about getting coilovers or just King Springs with new top hats.

After seeing the Rey's KRX recently, I started to wonder what happened to King Midori.

Update - the car was found. Looks like they managed to bang up the driver's side of the car.

Hoping that the dashcam is still there to see what the hell happened that night.

Thanks, guys. According to the North Kildonan Community Watch on Facebook, the douchebag who stole it was cruising around and broke into other Subarus in the area.

So I've decided to create a journal to document my journey with my Forester. I've got a lot to learn still about the Subaru world, but so far I'm loving this car.

Today I decided to do maintenance on her since it was time for an oil change.

She's completely stock which is what I was looking for since I wanted to start with a non-molested vehicle. Lol.

Noticed that there was an extra plug where my engine block heater cable was, so I decided to dig around a little bit and found a battery trickler tucked away in there. Sweet.

So after discovering that I had to let the engine cool a bit to do the oil change. So I decided to go ahead and check out the cabin filter since I noticed the air flow wasn't it's best when I ran the heat.

This is what I discovered...It was absolutely gross. No wonder the air flow wasn't very good, it was being hindered by all the dust and dead leaves. So, I went and grabbed an air filter from work that were designed for the 2005 imprezas. I had to do some custom work since the air filter was a little on the small side, but nothing a little patience and a dremel couldn't fix.

The air flow is much better now with the new filter.

Some other things I need to take care of once I have the funds are the interior door panels. Whoever the previous owner was must have had a big dog because the tops are just so badly damaged.

Anyone know if the panels from an Impreza fom the same year would fit?  I'm going to call around checking with the scrapyards to see if I can find any decent replacements.

Nice setup on the wheels and tires.  What size rim did you decide to go with?  I'm liking the Sparco Terras but can't decide between the 16" or 17".  I'd like to go with 17" wheels, but the choices in all terrain tires are limited unless I raise the forester with a kit.

I don't think he did any suspension work. The Forester STI comes lower from the factory.

Ah gotcha.  Like the height of it and the wheel and tire combo fill the wells really well.

Can't tell, but is your forester on lowering springs?  Loving the look of the 17's with meaty tires.

Welcome! Good sounding plans. I'm 2 foresters deep myself. 2009 XT and a imported 2001 Forester STi.

Great vehicles, hope it treats you well.

Thanks!  So far so good.  Nothing to really worry about.  I think my heatshield for the exhaust is starting to come loose since it rattles when I'm accelerating.  But, other than that just some maintenance and paint touchup is what I'm aiming to do in the short term.

I would love to try offroading in my forester once she's done, but this is nuts.  Lol.  I would have pooped myself if the car just started floating.

Hey guys.  Long time lurker and haven't introduced myself.  My name is Chad and I drive a 2005 Subaru Forester 2.5x.  Just got it so it's completely stock.  More or less I want to keep the ride height stock, but want to improve the handling and slap some all terrain tires on there since I daily it.  The reason why I got a forester is because I work for a local lawn maintenance / snow removal company, so the Subaru is awesome for towing the equipment around.

But, my future plans are the following:

- replace engine & transmission mounts
- replace front and rear shifter bushings
- replace swaybars and endlinks with whiteline units
- do a hybrid intake setup
- UEL headers
- STi axleback
- AVO throttlebody controller

Very new to the Subaru world, but my boss used to drive around a supercharged Saabaru, so he's always willing to lend me a hand and teach me.

Hope to learn and share with you guys as the car progresses.
