Engine & Transmission / LF: Somebody to weld a flex pipe
« on: April 22, 2016, 04:33 PM »
As the title says, I'm looking for somebody to cut out my broken flex pipe and weld a new one in for a decent price. Already have a new flex pipe, just need it welded in. I could also cut the exhaust myself so it's ready to be welded.

General Discussion / When to take summer car/tires out?
« on: March 10, 2016, 08:58 AM »
Hey everybody, I figured this would be an appropriate thread given the nice weather lately. I looked for a similar thread but couldn't find anything.

When does everybody usually take their summer cars out or put their summer tires on? Obviously when the snow melts but is it safe to wait a bit after that as well just in case? This is the first year I've stored my car so I'm curious. Also what kind of things do you do to your car before driving it?

Cars for Sale/Wanted/Trade / WTB: Pre-96 Camry 4-cylinder
« on: May 24, 2015, 08:23 PM »
Hey everyone, I know it's a long shot but I'm looking to buy a Camry with a 4 cylinder 5S-FE preferably from around 92-95 to swap the engine over into my Celica. The 96+ were OBDII and I would prefer something that is OBDI like my car to make things a little bit easier rather than trying to swap an OBDII engine over to OBDI.

If you have anything or know of anybody with one let me know, thanks!

Exterior & Interior / Repairing cracks in carbon fiber?
« on: April 04, 2015, 10:41 AM »
So my hood has a few cracks on it ever since I bought it and I'm hoping to get them fixed this summer. I'm pretty sure the cracks are just in the clear. Does anybody know the process of fixing cracks in CF? Just sand and re-clear/gel? Also does anybody know of somewhere in the city that does gel coating?

Automotive Gallery / Car photo game
« on: February 10, 2015, 08:09 PM »
Stole this from the Celica forum lol, thought it might be interesting to try out here.

Name a place or thing to take a picture with your car. The first person to go out, take, and post the picture picks the next one. Must be a picture taken after the challenge was chosen. Try not to make it impossible. No photoshops. If nobody else gets the picture within 1 week the person that picked it can choose a new one. A ew challenge must be picked when the picture of the last one was posted. After each comment name the next challenge at the bottom of your post so it doesn't get confusing. We can all agree and vote on making new rules as we go. Can be any car that you own, even a winter beater.

RULES:

1) After 3 days the person who made the challenge can post a picture then choose a new challenge.

2) If a challenge is not met after 1 week a new challenge is chosen

3) If a picture is in dispute, it needs 3 yes votes to be accepted.

6) Pictures must be taken AFTER the challenge. Rare exceptions such as pictures taken on the same day BEFORE the challenge may be accepted only by 3 acceptance votes.

Example. I'll start it off with:

A picture of your car in the snow

I'll start the next one really easy:

Next challenge: Your car in a parking lot

Protect Yourself / Bent rim from pothole
« on: June 25, 2014, 11:23 AM »
So the other day I bent my rim driving over a pothole on Pembina Hwy. Is there anything I can do to fight this? Or will I just get it thrown back at me and lose demerits? This was at 2737 Pembina Hwy going southbound in the middle lane just outside Midas by the way. The guys at Midas were saying it was there since last week and they had seen countless cars come in with blown tires and bent rims, and that the City themselves blew a tire when they came to have a look at it. My friend told me it has been fixed now though. It was a pretty decently sized pothole, looked to be about at least 30 inches x 45 inches, and about 4 inches deep at the lowest. I don't exactly have the lowest profile tires either lol and I managed to bend a rim on it.

As you can see in this picture, a rim could be easily bent.

Protect Yourself / Car broken into...
« on: May 02, 2014, 05:43 AM »
Well my car got broken into tonight. Was at a buddy's place in Windsor Park and came out to my car, noticed the interior light was on and I didn't leave it on. Get to my car, the door isn't fully shut, the door handle is all scratched and torn up and dented. The interior is all thrown around, haven't done a full check yet but so far I know they took my iPod. My buddy was just telling me earlier too that there has been a lot of break ins lately in the area.

What can I do, file a police report and that's it? Will I have to pay the full price to get it fixed or just a deductible?

Audio, Video & Electrical / Fixing headlights
« on: April 12, 2014, 02:46 PM »
Anybody know how easy it would be to fix a headlight? They're custom projector halo headlights that I had ordered but one of them got damaged in shipping. I already made a claim through UPS and got refunded for the broken one.

The projector inside the headlight has broken and come loose and there are pieces of it rattling on the inside. It's hard to show with pictures but this is what it looks like, the one on the left is the broken one. Also one of the adjusting screws broke off.

Crappy pictures I know, but does anybody know how I would go about fixing something like this? Or if somebody can do it I will pay them lol  :P

Hey everybody, I'm new to the forum! My name's Paul, I'm from Winnipeg and I drive a 1994 Celica GT-S. I went to the spring BBQ meet and loved it so much that I decided I should join. I'd love to attend many more meets to come and get involved with the community!

Some pictures of my car (Dat overspray):
