Wheels & Tires / Kinked wheel
« on: June 12, 2015, 05:39 PM »
Last weekend I hit a pothole on a gravel road and this happened... I heard Winnipeg wheel works can fix this. I'm just curious if I'd need to repaint wheel. If someone has other shop suggestions let me know!

Other Events / Furious 7 Movie Event
« on: March 11, 2015, 12:15 AM »
As most of you probably already know Furious 7 is coming out soon. I was just wondering if were planning on doing anything? It would be pretty cool having a small meet and afterwards watching the movie together. Might be a little hard to get tickets during the opening weekend/week so I'm not sure if this event would work out due to popularity. Let me know what you guys think.

The movie's release date is April 3rd but we'd need to find a date/time/location that would work best.

We've decided that we'll be going at 10:15pm, April 4th @ Polo park. Hopefully this date and time will work for most people since we're planning this almost a month ahead.
I'll update the thread as we plan further. (movie time, meeting time/place...)

Wanted / LF: Koni+GC set up for 97-01 prelude
« on: February 28, 2015, 02:01 PM »
Looking for Koni yellow struts and Groundcontrol sleeves for my prelude. With the Canadian $ these would cost quite a bit new, hoping to get lucky and find something local. I'm interested in purchasing only the struts as well as only the sleeves. If you have the whole set up it'll be a bonus.

Exterior & Interior / After Market steering wheel, is it worth it?
« on: January 04, 2015, 12:00 AM »
Hey guys, I'm curious on your thoughts and opinions on running after market steering wheels? More specifically removing a wheel with an airbag to install a Nardi, personal, momo etc. I have to admit, those wheel look and feel 1000000x better than most older 90's wheels and can completely change the look of the interior. If I were to change my wheel I feel like the fear of removing my airbag would always be in the back of my mind. Let me know what you think about it!

Interior and Audio / FS: Neochrome 5speed shiftknob
« on: September 15, 2014, 07:42 PM »
I've decided to sell my shift knob. It's got a couple little scratches and chips here and there but the overall condition is still good. It's about 57mm tall and 36mm wide, weighing 154 grams if anyone is wondering :P The knob is a 5 speed and in Neochrome. Thread is 10x1.50

Reason for selling is I purchased a new knob. Asking 25$ O.B.O

Journals / Miguel's BB6 Prelude
« on: August 16, 2014, 12:02 AM »
I've decided to make a journal for my 2001 Honda Prelude se. I have been debating for a while and finally decided I wanted to track my cars progress, be able to share my build with others and also get input and tips.

Little background story...

After looking at many cars online, figuring out my budget and talking to other owners about civics, acura rsxs, integras and many others I decided to take a step out of the box.

In late January, early February I finally went and looked at a car. While I was looking at cars on Kijiji, stumbled on a 1997 Honda prelude type sh with 120xxkms. My dad and I decided to look at it and I fell in love with it right away. Even though It was in rough shape, I loved it. It would of been an awesome build but not what I was looking for as a first car. Before I saw that prelude, I've always thought the prelude was the odd one out when talking about Hondas. The big problem is that 9/10 were ruined by cheap mods. Huge body kits, crazy looking wheels and obviously, a huge ebay fart can :(. After seeing that black one, I finally saw potential in this now somewhat rare car.

One day my dad showed me the add for what now is my prelude. 100% stock (except the double din), no rust, clean title, and 62xxxkms. I knew I had to have it.

My dad, also a car guy (owns an AP2 S2k) flew to Toronto and picked It up for me. I still remember the huge grin on my face the first time I hit vtec (I know, typical Honda fan boy :hurr:) and finally knew I had my own car. It was the start of something great.

The first day

The first mod I did was put a new OEM Honda Spoiler on the car to get rid of that *sedan look*. It wasn't cheap but I didn't want to put something after market, and after getting a used one painted, I would of been pretty closed to the same price. I was planning on waiting till 2015 to do anything else...That didn't last long.

A picture that Darcy took from my first tti meet.

Second Mod I did was a Megan racing short shifter adapter. I hated the long throw, and thought this would be a good easy modification to do. I picked it up from speed factor and installed it. I had to drill the holes to size and grind down the shifter but once it was on, I was happy I did it. Now I have a skunk 2 weighted shift knob now which it feels really good and has almost no slop at all. I had also picked up some sparco medal pedals since I really liked the feel of my dads metal pedals in his s2k.

I also needed new tires. I had decided to go with the Michelin pilot A/S3, which is their bottom tire in their performance series. I really like the tires! They have a hard sidewall which is great for handling and the grip isn't bad either. I can't chirp the tires going from 1st to 2nd anymore. The plan might be to keep this set up on my stocks for a bit of autox and get some nice rims and tires for daily driving. Thinking I'll go with something similar to a Te37

After that I did my cleaned up my engine bay. It was pretty greasy since the past owner had gotten annual under coatings to make sure no rust would appear. Even though my engine bay was clean, I still thought it was missing some colour. First thing I wanted done in there was a wrinkle red valve cover like the type s preludes. I went to a junkyard and scored a valve cover for $30. I then brought it to Villain motorsports and he did his magic. I think it looks way better than the stock black. It also brought me closer to my engine bay goals. (somewhat like the pictures below). Clean and simple.

Like this but with this intake

This is how my car stands to this day, but I have recently purchase an Invidia Q300 and it's currently in my room still waiting on a custom piece so I can install it. It's designed for the type SH which has a 4 inch longer downpipe to stretch over their *superhandling* unit. That means that my exhaust is 4 inches too short. I'm currently waiting for my 4 inch piece which is getting welded this week. I am very excited to see how it turns out. I love the sound of the q300 on my dads s2k, I'm hoping the prelude will be the same.

Not the greatest mod carrier...

To finish it off for now, a couple pictures Greg (speedpls) took before Gonzo Drift event last weekend

Detailing / Faded plastic
« on: July 03, 2014, 07:07 PM »
I'm wondering what's the easiest way to restore faded plastics. I hate the faded grey look. I've tried tire shine and all the products I have but I'm still not satisfied. Any help is appreciated.

Engine & Transmission / Valve cover painting
« on: June 23, 2014, 02:57 PM »
So I picked up an extra H22 prelude valve cover from a parts car. I'm looking into getting it powder coated type s wrinkle red. I'm just wondering how much it's going to cost and where you guys have gotten it done?

Detailing / Gouge in bumper
« on: March 07, 2014, 07:01 PM »
Alright so today I pulled off the biggest rookie move and forgot to pull up my e brake when I parked in garage. Later on I was rushed and opened the garage door not realizing that my car rolled back against it... The hinge put a pretty deep gouge into the bumper. (right one is the worst)
I was just wondering what you guys think would be the best way to make it somewhat look "good". I already ordered the little paint pen from Honda but wont help to shallow the gouge down.

Detailing / Engine Bay cleaning
« on: March 04, 2014, 05:01 PM »
I just got my 2001 prelude and since the owner got annual oil film undercoatings the engine bay is pretty gunked up for my liking. Since this is the first "open engine" car I've washed I was just wondering what I should be covering and techniques to use. What products do you guys use? Is using a pressure washer safe to use?
Let me know what you think.

My name is Miguel, i am 16 and i love cars. I don't have a car yet, but I am currently saving up money to get a 04-07 subaru wrx. My dad has a 2005 honda s2k that I might come check out meets with in the mean time just to meet people and look at all the nice cars. The s2k is very clean and has an invidia q300 exhaust. I am planning on having enough money by the end of summer and start building my own masterpiece! Cheers!
