Motorsports / ATTENTION: Looking for Ice Racing volunteers!
« on: November 23, 2017, 12:17 PM »
We are urgently looking for volunteers for the 2018 WSCC Ice Racing season beginning in January.  This is a great opportunity to get involved with the Winnipeg Sports Car Club, and get close to the racing action! As of right now we are short on volunteers, and need extra hands to make this season happen.

If you are interested in volunteering for these events, please see here for more information: http://forums.wscc.mb.ca/index.php?/forum/31-ice-racing-jordan-sharples-director/

For sale is my personal build, otherwise known as “Frankenstein”.  It is a 2007 Impreza wagon that was built as a sedan-converted STI wagon.  It was my dream to build something that never existed from the factory, and I accomplished this task.  Reason for selling is that I am selling off my summer/winter cars in order to fund my Stage Rally aspirations and keep only 1 daily driver.

Build completed 25,000 kms ago.  Originally built with an EJ207 V9 Spec-C and Legacy GT 5-speed, however this was swapped for the EJ257 and 6-speed setup 15,000 kms ago (EJ207 saved for Rally Car).  The entire car was stripped down to the bare shell; any surface rust on the interior floors was ground down, stripped, and painted with POR15.  The front and rear wheel wells were also cleaned, stripped, and had bedliner paint applied to protect them.  Rear quarter panel arches have been completely sealed on the interior and exterior, and are rust free.  The sedan rear end conversion was done using brand new OEM metal rear quarter panels.  The original wagon quarter panels were modified to accept the wide conversion, and cleaned and sealed prior to finalizing the sedan quarters.  The shell is very clean and has only seen a couple winters during its life; underbody was always washed thoroughly.  All subframes and underbody components were sandblasted and powdercoated black; the car is very clean underneath.  Engine bay was cleaned, stripped, and has bedliner applied.

New Safety, and new alignment!

« on: January 30, 2017, 02:19 PM »
Hey Everyone,

Jared here, the WSCC Rally Director. Just wanted to extend an invitation to anyone on TopTier that may be interested in Rally related motorsport events. I'm building up a Rally community here in Manitoba, and have started it off with hosting hot lapping events on the ice racing track. See the event details here:

http://forums.wscc.mb.ca/index.php?/topic/10773-icecross-lapping-event-saturday-february-4th/

Any questions, see my contact info at the link! Hope to see you guys out

Event details copied over:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Official Event Details:

What?
Icecross style event (driving on a frozen pond, on a track carved out of the snow, in an attempt to get around the course in the quickest times possible)
* Please note that this will not be ice-cross in its true sense, as cones may or may not be used, however future events will stick to a regulated set of rules.

Why?
The purpose of this event is to start establishing a rally community here in Manitoba once again. This is an excellent opportunity to use track with the ice racers. In addition, seasoned experts are on hand to teach you the basics!

When?

Saturday, February 4th, 2017

Schedule:
10:45 am - Driver's Meeting --> Location: TBD (We'll just congregate together)
11:00 am - 4:00 pm - Ice-cross Lapping --> Let's rip!

We will be doing rotations with the other two groups, so it will run in the following order: 15 min. studded, 15 min. rubber-ice, 15 min. Icecross, repeat

Where?
Lake Shirley - Off Murdock road, it's the water ski pond in the summer time --> Google Maps Link: https://goo.gl/maps/64jLxrbogHP2

How Much?
Entry Fee: $60 --> We pay what the ice racers pay, plain and simple

What Do I Need?
1. A current SNELL “M” or “SA” helmet
    - SA is strongly encouraged
    - SA helmet mandatory for all vehicles with factory or aftermarket installed roll protection
2. WSCC Membership --> See here: http://www.wscc.mb.ca/join/
3. Winter Tires --> all season tires are not permitted
4. Register for the event on MotorsportReg (make sure to sign up under the TnT saturday section --> http://www.motorsportreg.com/events/2017-wscc-ice-race-3-winnipeg-sports-car-club-565778
5. Bring a bucket to put all your belongings in (Rubbermaid tote, for example), as you will need to remove all loose items from your vehicle before you head out on the track.
6. Vehicle must be dimensionally wider than it is tall (same restriction as Autocross)
7. Vehicle must have functional tow points (either factory locations that are intact and easily accessible, or aftermarket hooks in place)

How Do I Sign Up?
Follow the links above, or text/call me at (204) 294-0286 with any questions/concerns.

To answer some common questions:
1. No, you do not need any special modifications to your vehicle. You can show up with your daily-driver (Toyota Tercel, or EVO X, doesn't matter), or your full blown race-car. This is about having fun no matter what you're in, and challenging your skills as a driver. The only requirement is that the vehicle be wider than it is tall (identical rules to Autocross)
2. Do I need a WSCC membership? Yes, this is mandatory for insurance purposes
3. Where can I get a helmet? You can either borrow one from a friend (lots of people in the city that do Autocross, or HPDE that have purchased helmets in the past. OR, go to Classic Motorworks or other speed shops in the city and pick one up for yourself
4. Am I going to have fun? Um, heck yes. This event allows you to do everything you already do when we get a snow storm, but without the worry of being charged for it.
5. Will I become Ken Block / Colin McRae once I've completed this event? No... But if you keep getting involved and participating, then you absolutely have a chance!

Let's get this community going, and have a blast doing it! We had an awesome time 2 weeks ago with a bunch of Subaru's, and even a RWD Volvo! Everyone learned a bunch, so I hope to see everyone out!

Exterior / LF/WTT: 06-08 Forester Tail Lights for 04-05 Tails
« on: April 19, 2016, 10:15 AM »
I am looking to trade my 2006 Subaru Forester Tail Lights for 2004-2005 Tails, as I am wanting to change up the look of my car.

My lights are the chrome housing lights found on 2006-2008 Subaru Foresters, and look like this:

I am wanting these:

My lights are in perfect shape, with no damage and no condensation. Hoping someone on here is wanting to update their rear end to the newer lights, and we can help each other out!

Interior and Audio / LF/WTB: Fixed Back Racing Seat
« on: April 13, 2016, 10:24 AM »
I'm looking for a fixed back racing seat to install into my track car. There was an UltraShield Rally Seat for sale previously, but I missed out on it. Something like that, or a Sparco/Corbeau, etc.

Let me know what you have, and how much you're looking for!

Year: 2005
Make: Subaru
Model: Legacy 2.5GT Sedan
Colour: Garnet Red Pearl (ext), Black/Grey (int)
Kilometers: 174,690 km
Transmission: 5 Speed manual
Method of contact: (204) 294-0286, or pm here
Price: $10,500
Safetied: Yes, see below

Desription:

For sale is my 2005 Subaru Legacy 2.5GT Sedan with a 5-speed manual transmission, in Garnet Red Pearl.

Safetied! Fresh, new Manitoba safety.

Quick Summary: 2.5 Litre Turbo (250 HP, 240 ft-lb), 4-cylinder boxer engine; All-wheel drive; heated front seats, auto climate control, etc. Lots of features, plenty of info available online. Paint is in excellent condition with very few imperfections. Interior is well kept and smells great. Comes with winter tires on factory 17" OEM GT wheels. OEM Spec B 18" wheels with summer tires available for an additional cost.

Recent Maintenance:
- OEM catless uppipe (details below)
- New Turbocharger assembly (VF40)
- New left front strut assembly
- New front sway bar links
- Turbo oil supply banjo bolt filter removed
- Newer timing belt
- Newer clutch/flywheel

Vehicle Modifications:
- Catback exhaust (OEM downpipe with cat still in place)
- Lowering springs
- Cobb SF Intake and Airbox

This car runs and drives extremely well. It has no rust anywhere on the body, and is very clean underneath (not typical manitoba corrosion). Rear quarter panel arches were previously cleaned and resealed to prevent future rust formation, and have held up very well.

Turbocharger replacement was done pre-emptively, as well as the catless uppipe. If you quickly research these cars, you will get the back story, but essentially the banjo bolt filters cause failures in these cars all the time if not properly maintained. I replaced the factory catted uppipe (inherent failure point) with an OEM catless version. The turbo was also replaced since I was already in there, as well as removing the banjo filter; the car is set for quite a while of trouble-free operation.

Price: $10,500

FS: OEM Subaru Spec C 13:1 RHD steering rack. This rack will fit both GC/GF (1992-2001) and GD/GG (2002-2007) generation Imprezas, right-hand drive only.
I bought this rack with the intention of taking parts from it to make my own 13:1 quick rack for my LHD car, but ended up just buying the 2015 STI rack instead. Unit is in excellent condition, and includes tie rod ends.

P/N: 34110-FE440, for reference.

* this is hands down one of the best mods you can do for your car. Bushings will only do so much, but a stock 16.5:1 WRX rack will never live up to this.

TRANSMISSION: 6-speed manual (non-SMG)

PRICE (MUST STATE A PRICE, IS IT FIRM OR OBO?): $19,500
IS THE VEHICLE SAFETIED: Can be safetied for local buyer

Title: Clean, 0 accidents

For sale is my 2003 BMW M3 (E46) Coupe. It is a 2003.5 production date car, which includes the revised LED tail lights and various other changes. This car is in excellent condition mechanically, and great shape cosmetically. I have owned it since April 2013, and still absolutely love it, however my vehicle priorities have changed, and thus I am moving on.

Factory Options:
Carbon Black exterior, on black leather interior
6-speed manual (not SMG)
Factory MkIV BMW DVD Navigation, with Harmon Kardon Premium sound package

Originally a US vehicle that has NEVER seen snow or salt; the vehicle was originally from Florida, until it moved to California in February 2005. It remained there until April 2006, at which point it moved to Colorado. I purchased it from a seller on M3Forum.net, and imported the vehicle into Canada at that point. Since then, it has been exclusively summer driven, and stored inside during the winters. I purchased the vehicle with 99,242 miles, and have enjoyed every mile since then. Previous owner purchased it in 2009 with 84,000 miles. Car drives straight, and handles well. Grip is excellent with the suspension and tire setup, and the engine runs smooth.

*Vehicle includes a brand new OEM Diamond master key (2 keys total)

Until my ownership, all maintenance was performed at BMW dealerships, or AutoSport Werks in Colorado.

Maintenance of note:
- Inspection II performed at 93,000 miles (included new valve cover gasket, trailing arm bushings, a/c belt, valve cover seal, valve adjustment)
- Rear subframe inspected for cracking by AutoSport Werks in CO, no issues found
- Spark plugs and coils changed at 85,000 miles
- New OEM clutch & pressure plate, OEM Flywheel, etc. at 106,000 miles. Service included the following additional parts:
      - Turner Motorsport rear shock tower reinforcement plates, and Repair Shop lifetime warranty rear shock mounts (RSMs)
      - Input & Output shaft seals, rear main seal, all bolts and nuts replaced with new (as removed), delrin shifter bushings, etc.
- Thermostat and Coolant Temp Sensor at 106,530 miles
- Wheels straightened, ground, stripped, and repainted; new rear tires, all wheels balanced; all less than 2 weeks ago
- Beisan Systems VANOS Solenoid coil pack replacement (common issue)
- All oil changes performed at half or less of the OEM recommended interval, with Castrol 10W60 oil and OEM filters

Current modifications:
- Black-out front and side grilles
- Varrstoen ES1 Wheels; 19x9.5 Front, 19x11 Rear; “new” wheels, redone by Winnipeg Wheel Works 2 weeks ago with ~10 km on them
- Falken FK452 Tires; 245/30R19 Front, 285/40R19 rear (new)
- Bilstein Coilovers (P/N E4-FD1-Y517-AOO) – Adjustable ride height and dampening
- K&N Panel Filter (cleaned and oiled at every oil change)
- 3-way adjustable front sway bar, 30 mm (unknown brand, perhaps Whiteline?)
- CSL Trunk - Modbargains, Fiberglass (excellent fit, quality paint match) – stock trunk included
- CSL front splitters for OEM bumper, replica
- LED Fog Lights
- F10 M5 shift knob (quality upgrade, OEM part, identical illumination colour, weighted) – hardly used and in perfect shape
- Intravee II + Alpine KCA-420i iPod/iPhone interface (control with factory NAV system) – will only include if buyer requests and will use the device
- LED Halo Angel Eyes (also have CFL versions, which are similar to the OEM angel eyes installed on newer models, can include)
- Clutch delay valve removal (CDV), online research will explain the reasoning
- DIY Clutch stop (greatly improved the clutch operation)

I will truly miss this car, and want it to go to a good home. For any US buyers, importing back into the US will be a breeze, as it was originally a US car, and no modifications are required. Car can be safetied for a local buyer.

Exterior shows stone chips from highway driving, however the paint still shines beautifully. Front bumper has damage to lower edge of lower grill due to an object on the highway during the previous ownership. Headlight lenses have been restored last year. Had a full professional detail with cut and polish early 2014, and was only washed by hand. Interior leather is in great shape, no tears.

Please contact me for additional information. Have receipts for all maintenance and parts during my ownership.

Price: $19,500 CAD

I have for sale a set of JDM STI Projector Headlights, with the flat black housings.

Fitment: Any 2002-2003 Subaru Impreza

Condition: Lenses are in excellent condition with no fading or scuffing. Few minor marks, which is to be expected from a used part.

Included: both OEM headlights, OEM ballasts with brackets, and associated wiring pigtails.

Price: $550

Can also include OEM Leveling switch and length of wire if you plan on hooking up the leveling motors, for $50 more.

Looking for an aftermarket rear shifter bushing for my 05 Legacy GT.

Cobb, Kartboy, Perrin, any brand is fine with me, just not stock floppy rubber.

Can be a 5 or 6 speed bushing, as they're all the same.

Call/Text Jared @ (204) 294-0286, or pm me here.

I have for sale my Invidia Catted Divorced Wastegate Bellmouth 3" Downpipe.

The Downpipe is used, but in great shape, with typical installation scratching/scuffing. It is functionally perfect. Kilometers are unknown, however given the condition, I'd say they're low. Either way, the cat is clean and in good condition.

Fitment:
2002-2007 Subaru WRX and STI
2004-2008 Subaru Forester XT

Reason for selling: sold my WRX, and my new car has a twinscroll turbo, which is unable to use this Downpipe.

More info can be found here:

I have a set of tail lights for sale. They are in mint condition, with no major scratches and no cracks aside from the one blemish shown in Picture #4. The finish is beautiful, and they shine really well. All bulbs are in perfect working order, and wiring harnesses are included.

Stock Application: 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX/STI

Will fit any GD chassis Impreza sedan, 2002-2007. 2002-2003 will require slight modification to the rear bumper, or there's the option to leave it, and these will simply sit out a little, hardly noticable.

* Note: These are the darker grey Hawkeye tail lights, not the chrome look 2007 lights.
* Note: The blemish shown is not a crack. There is a mark on the outside of the plastic, but the white spot is on the inside. It is hardly noticeable.

Will also have a 2004 WRX Rear Bumper for sale in the next month or so if you want a matching bumper for the light profile. World Rally Blue in colour (WRB).

Reason for selling: Went back to stock 04/05 Tail Lights.

Price: $200

As the title states, I'm looking for a set of lateral links (2 front, 2 rear). Preferably the stock items from an 05-07 STI (aluminum). Let me know what you have.

As the title states, I'm looking for a rear sway bar with 02-07 WRX or STI fitment. Can be stock, or aftermarket. Need one for my project.

I know WRX and STI bars are different, but I can use either, as I will simply buy the correct end links for them.

Looking to open a discussion about this so that if anyone has experience with this or has already done the research, than there can be a source for it here.

The scoop: I have a long-term plan to build my ideal Subaru, and one with rarity. To do that, I want to get a hold of either an S203, or an S202 depending upon what I decide about twinscroll. My preference is currently to get an S203. Not looking for opinions on that decision, but rather about the process of getting one. I want to import one as "Parts Only", or "Off-Road Use Only", and swap absolutely everything over into a rust-free, clean LHD Bugeye wagon shell. So in no way am I looking to import it in order to actually register it and drive it.

Is this possible? I know that a half-cut can be done, but can it be imported in its original state without being cut? If this can be done, how do I go about doing it.

Discussion begin!

As the title states, I'm looking for a microphone to use with my Pioneer AVIC deck in my car. The Pioneer CD-VM1 is the OEM recommended unit, like this: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/Accessories/AV-Components/CD-VM1

Just seeing if anyone has one laying around that I can pick up, before going to Amazon to get one.

Thanks in advance.

I have for sale an HKS Hi Power Catback Exhaust. Fitment is for any 2002-2007 Subaru Impreza WRX or STI.

Product details can be found here:
http://www.jscspeed.com/catalog/Subaru/02_07_WRX_STI/Exhaust_Systems/HKS_Exhaust_Systems_for_Subaru_02_07_WRX_STI.html

Full 3" exhaust. Newer resonator welded in, and has a flex pipe from the factory.

Condition is average. Has been used on a vehicle, and as such it has surface rust in places and the finish isn't perfect.

Reason for selling: I found a Magnaflow system for my car that I had been looking for. I wanted a tucked exhaust rather than a straight through type like this one is. No reason other than that, love the sound.

Price: $350 (SOLD)

For sale is a set of 4 Winter Tires on Steel Rims.

Diameter: 14 in.
Size: 185/65R14
Bolt Pattern: 4x100 (Honda, etc.)
Tires: Rovello RWT768 Winter Tires
Tread Depth: 10/32" (average)
Reason for selling: Sold car, no longer have a 4x100 vehicle

These tires were purchased brand new last fall at Walmart; mounted and balanced. Only have one winter of wear on them, tons of tread left and many more winters of use. Wheels were blasted and painted "Skittles" colours: Red, Pink, Yellow, Green. This was purely for fun, made people laugh. Paint is rusting and flaking off, so rims are by no means mint. Sand them down and paint them black, easy to do.

Turned out to be great tires, really good grip. No complaints of road noise from me, used them to commute every day. Were mounted on my winter beater 1991 Honda Civic. Sold the car, and no longer have any 4x100 vehicles, so these need to go to a good home.

Price: $200

Looking for adapter rings to make a 52mm gauge fit into a 60mm pod, looking for 2. I know they're available cheap online, but figured I would ask if anyone had any locally first.

Here is one for reference: http://www.rallysportdirect.com/ATI-Adapter-Rings-60mm-to-52mm
