Journals / My Favorite - 2006 Ford Ranger FX4 Level II

So even though I currently own 3 cars, I'm a truck guy at heart. This truck was the first automobile I purchased and I will probably own it my entire life.
Purchased in 2012 as a one owner, older gentleman owner, was in great shape.

Specs:
2006 ford ranger FX4 level II
4.0 SOHC V6
5 Speed Auto
3" body lfit
33" tires

Cliff notes of the changes it's been through.

Day I bought it. Stock, grandpa grill guard and bug deflector, 31" tires, and side steps.



Did a few mods that aren't picture worth the first week of owning. Removed steps, bug guard, and grill cover. Did a mod that allows fog lights on all the time (factory they go off with high beams), changed out the exhaust for an MBRP turndown system.


first summer I tossed on a set of 32" tires on steel wheels. zero lift still at this point



Plasti dipped the hood and grill with an idea i've seen done before. I liked it, and had it painted professionally at a later date.




Testing the flex on with the 32's. It rubbed a little so I knew a lift was in order soon.




In goes the 3" Body lift.





Sitting pretty silly looking with the lift and worn down 32" tires.



sooooo 33's were ordered! 33x12.50x15 hankook MT. love these tires. super good in mud and deep snow.



Fast forward to winter, sent my truck in to have some hail damage repaired, and my hood painted as perviously mentioned.





I often jump my truck, and this is the result of that. Snapped a leaf spring. whoops! Tossed in a used ranger spring and started the hunt for some 64" long chevy leaf springs.



couple months later, I found the springs I needed!



So the work began. To run these I had to move the front spring hangers forward on the frame. as these are longer than stock springs. Meaning more travel, meaning better jumps.

Had a jackstand fail, which was fun!




hangars moved and leaf springs in.



I removed the factory 1.5, or 2" block and still gained about 3/4" of lift with these springs as well. so it was nice to get rid of that stupid lift block they use from factory.



Bought a dana 30 solid axle (came from a Jeep Cherokee) to swap in. *this hasnt happened yet, priorities started coming into affect at this point. still ahve the axle though, it might happen.





Thats about it really, the wheels have changed color a few times, currently they are orange lol. I took the muffler off and it's not straight piped after the cats.
been driving it and abusing it pretty much like that.

have had 4x4 issues for a while now, and last winter it got really bad to the point the chain inside the transfer case was slipping. so I'm currently having that rebuilt, and I will have working 4x4 this winter which will be fun! Truck currently has 256,xxx kms on it. So it's pretty decent that it lasted this long! hopefully I get another 250+ out of it.



I have a set of 33" duratracs i'll be studding for winter use this year. that will be nice.

Engine, Drivetrain and Exhaust / 2.0 zetec engine, from focus

Looking to get rid of my spare 2.0 liter engine. Was going to rebuild it for turbo for my old car, but I ended up getting a new car to spend my money on.
Has under 90,000 kms. For an auto trans car. being stored with atf in the engine. open to offers, not expecting to get a lot for it. Can bring into the city.

Wheels and Tires / FS: 4 Michelin Defenders 195/65R15

Have 4 basically new Michelin Defenders for sale. They came with my car when I bought it, these are basically new, I'd be surprised if they had more than 5000 KMS on them. No holes, no patches, good condition.

they are not on the steelies anymore, It's just the tires. Looking to get around $250 OBO for em. I have zero use for them. Maybe someone here can use em?
Located an hour west of winnipeg, but I can bring them into the city no issue.

Edit:

Date code is 4813, so about 2.5 yeard old. Price change to reflect age. Still great tires. Just won't fit my wheels so I have no use for em.

Re-organizing this. Was in a hurry when I made it, it was messy.

Specs:
2008 Ford Focus SE Coupe
2.0 Duratec, 143 HP 136 FT-LBS
5 Speed manual (only way to go!)


Mods:
17" OEM ford wheels of a 2009+ SES focus
Eibach Lowering springs
JL Sub + Pioneer Amp
Blacked out grill
Red Nightshaded Taillights
Shorty Antenna

Mods to come:
FSwerks Stealth Exhaust
35% rear tint, 50% front tint
Powdercoat 17" wheels (over winter)
Eibach Swaybars front and rear (have, but not installed)
retrofit projector headlights (waiting for mini D2S v4.0 to be released)
Poly Rear engine mount
Possibly Intake
Possibly an engine cover

I had to change for the front struts to make the 06-07 springs work in my 08. basically just the spring seat. but I put in new upper mounts as well because why not. They're out of the car, good time to replace them. you can see the 06-07 seat on the left, and the stock 08 on the right.



and how she sits after lowering, much better.




and finally the most recent thing I've done, was to de-badge/sticker the rear of the car.






This thread is just a place to keep things organized basically. Don't expect anything crazy to happen to this thing, It's a low budget "do things when I can" type of car. It's main purpose is commuting.

Please don't hate me too much.

Drive a 2008 Focus SE with the 2.0 Duratec. Just picked it up used a little while ago. Was a one owner, and completely stock. haven't done a ton to it yet, tossed on my 17" SES wheels I ran on my old focus, tossing on some lowering springs this weekend. Painted the taillights for a custom touch. Plastidipped the grille till I can find an OEM black grille. Also have a second set of headlights I'll be doing a projector retrofit on.

She's my new daily driver. And i'm going to treat this one nicely haha. My old focus I would abuse the living crap out of down the backroads. This newer one will be strictly for the street. so gravel for it, hence the username.
