As of 2 p.m. Friday afternoon, no severe thunderstorm watches had been put in place in Manitoba. Cloud cover, early thunderstorm activity and a strong cap suppressed the severe thunderstorm threat to a point.
Thursday afternoon, Friday’s storm threat could have been described as a “boom or bust” situation. If storms were to develop, they would be big but there was also a chance they would not develop at all. North Dakota is more likely to still see severe weather.

Updated further. Let's hope they're right this time lol.

http://globalnews.ca/news/3595952/risk-of-severe-weather-friday-in-manitoba/

Looks like this was updated recently. The fourth paragraph in particular.

Quote
Friday morning has already seen some non severe thunderstorm activity in parts of southern Manitoba and the Interlake. Generally, areas in southern Manitoba see non severe thunderstorm activity Friday morning are less likely to see severe weather later in the afternoon. This does not apply for the Interlake areas as the “cap” in this region is significantly weaker. A storm can be “capped” by warmer air aloft which is the situation most of southern Manitoba is seeing Friday morning. This is not to say severe weather cannot be triggered, it is just more difficult.

Not sure if this means no storm or....

Pretty fast course yesterday, my best 4th run:

The M2 was in the birchwood booth so unfortunately that wasn't an option for me - but damn that does look like a fast course.

I'll grab some pics after roll-in tomorrow for Driven. I've been meaning to start a journal just a little lazy right now lol.

Yup.

You crack the container and squeegee it onto the windshield. It's a hydrophobic coating for glass - just like Opticoat / Ceramic Pro / GTechniq is for paint.

Agreed. My personal preference is RWD > FWD > AWD for fun driving. AWD is great for traction and putting down power, but takes away all the dynamic driver input that makes driving (fast) fun, imo.

Yeah in all seriousness, having owned all three, I completely agree with the fun driving hierarchy you mentioned.

AWD is way too predictable for fun driving - there's something about roasting / spinning your tires that's satisfying. RWD offers the advantage of being able to do it off the line and also allows for some fun around corners.

I found FWD (at least with the Focus power band) to be quite fun as well, but definitely not on the same level as RWD. After a certain power level it becomes utterly useless and the fun very quickly declines lol. There comes a point where more power doesn't make sense in a FWD vehicle (read: too much torque) and instead of actually propelling yourself forward and enjoying the exhilaration of being thrown back into your seat, you're now sitting there pedalling / fighting for traction.

Just because the CTR is the "fastest FWD vehicle around the Nurburgring" doesn't make it any better than its competitors :-\

@Nirusan hurry up and get to your break in period, so you can get to redline.

I was at a Ford dealership today. As I was checking out the Focus RS they had in the showroom, they mentioned that the MSRP is supposedly going up to about $60K next year.  <:

Sounds about right. The US MSRP was released recently and it went up significantly so I wouldn't be surprised to see it hit about $60k Canadian. The car is definitely not a $60,000 vehicle.
Only reason for the price increase is because they're the last units for the final production year (for now) - two colors only (Nitrous Blue and Race Red), front LSD included, and black roof, mirrors and spoiler. Definitely worth the huge price increase  :zwirly:

Collision Avoidance, Lane Departure, and possibly adaptive cruise control. At least that's what it is on the Audi / M2 - not sure if Subaru has all three or omits adaptive cruise.
