Been away from all forums and autox for too long. Did you part with that really slow Golf you had?

A bucket is awesome (don't bring water though, just fill at the wash), however it's usually one step further than the wash guy may be willing to bend. Never hurts to ask. Like I said, I've always asked politely and unless there's a massive line it's been good. I typically haul ass instead of my usual driveway pave though.

I'm perfectly fine with having an intelligent conversation about this.  However when most of your information is either anecdotal or irrelevant (1jz/2jz crap) I find it hard to take you seriously. I reserve my right to pick apart anything that is incorrect or misleading.

Most of my information? I didn't introduce that motor comparison and in fact first questioned the relevancy. ??

Secondly, you don't know me. How are you assuming anything I know is merely anecdotal?

Ftr, I have a highly modified A4 which is pretty much full aftermarket front to back. Stroked and fully built with a GT28, Racegate wg and catless 3" tb exhaust. I've dismantled and reassembled much of it several times in the past cpl years for some upgrades. So.. I know a few things. Can I argue air flow and performance metrics? No.. I'm not THAT into it all.

I'm not sure anything I've posted is incorrect nor misleading, especially not intentionally. Without knowing all of the facts from the op, such is the life of most forum questions.

Wait, there are "professionals" in the thread? LOL, where? Oh no, you said "intelligent"... 'shrug'. People know some stuff that's for sure.

Why is every post you make about a 1jz/2jz?

Pls.

It's the way every forum is now. Post, misread, compound misread info, generalize and paraphrase, imply lack of intelligence, or comprehension, make accusations, "I support that guy", know it all comments, whine about citations and facts...

It's impossible to just have an online forum discussion now without hilarious comebacks and some one needing to pick apart irrelevant poop.

Rinse and repeat.

There should be something similar to Godwins Law, in how fast posts turn off topic.

You're welcome.

He already posted knowledge of the GTM kit in an earlier post. It poses a threat to the CVT, however.

But it does seem to be the easiest option, regardless, with a good boost controller keeping things under 250 wouldn't be too difficult.

Sounds like aenimal and twofourdee know, ask them.

He's right, the 28RS (not 76) isn't huge but def larger than a 20.. Plus manufacturers go nuts with stuffing them into the most ridiculous places often prohibiting any future upgrades.

It's easy to outpace your wishes with this stuff.

Oops, gamerface got me all butt hurt on pistons and I misread your post.  I did not however compare his motor to a 2jz. On the flip side I was refuting how stupid it was to compare the two motors (see my response to facegame).  Again though, your rods are completely out of context in this thread and I don't care to hear about them.

I'm sorry that you base your assessment on anecdotal experience and not actual knowledge.  This is just as bad as comparing his motor to the 1jz/2jz.  I do however sort of agree with your second statement.

LOL, ok

Who changed the oil? If it is stuck there, I think Josh may be onto something. Depending on who did it, maybe they inadvertently snagged a sensor wire.. long shot.

How did I miss this gem?  Just so you know, pretty well ALL pistons in modern automobiles are made out of an aluminum alloy (both cast and forged).  Aluminum is relatively strong and fairly cheap to use.

How did you miss what gem? I mentioned pencil thin, weak rods, you're rambling about pistons. Just so you know, my aftermarket rods are not pencil thin and not made of Aluminum, which was the point of my post (which you took out of its context comparing a Juke motor to a 2jzgte - with forged rods) suggesting considering replacing them if the OP is adamant about going for more than 250hp. (which the OP already said he wasn't, in his first post.) Others were suggesting more. As has been repeated now, its ridiculous to compare the two motors.

It was a response to the OP assuming his "engine" is forged, OEM. Did you miss that? THAT'S a gem. And hence why I asked what his engine code was.

Sorry, this assessment is based on what exactly?

What are you sorry for? My assessment on the internals under the pistons being weak and requiring replacement if going for 300hp comes from my experience and owning a highly modified car that I wrench on myself... and a quick look on the internet... it's not like the Juke nor it's 1.6L motor were invented yesterday.

As I already said, because other Juke owners have already been here - "Intake, exhaust, stg 1 flash, boost control plus some other support and it'll remain a great dd."

That's a dinosaur of a high output twin turbo performance motor with 300 base hp + forged internals and treated pistons.

This is a modern day high efficiency 4 cyl (1.6L?) econobox motor with OEM shortcuts, space saving and high fuel economy components.

I bet the rods in a Juke motor are thinner than
my little finger and made of aluminium. That's the biggest problem here. Everything under the pistons is weak as sh1t, over 250hp would be starting to push it.

Intake, exhaust, stg 1 flash, boost control plus some other support and it'll remain a great dd.

Car will run with that AF, but that is lean as hell!! It better not say that when you're on the throttle while driving.

Def sounds like a boost leak. Any work done recently? Strange for the gauge or sensor to just go... You haven't noticed any issues before?

Are the scratches super deep? Just in the clear coat? Or through the clear and into/through the paint?

Hookup with someone who has a random orbital in the spring and polish the bad **** out and she becomes much easier to maintain. A surface with a poor finish will always hold much more dirt than one waxed frequently.

If you MUST use a wand wash brush, and if your finish isn't so spectacular.. You can take the pressure washer and spray the **** out of the brush head... MOST of what scratches a finish is the junk from previous drrrty cars remaining in the bristles. Not the best,  but won't give you a coronary afterward when you spot any small marks which may occur.. Which would be easily hand polished out.

You can't wash a dirty car without touching it.

If you do wax regularly, and keep it clean regularly, it gets damn close, but could you imagine showering and not touching your skin? Not happening.

What's the prob with black cars?

2 of my previous cars were black.

Wash them properly and no probs! ie: no circular wash motions. I've always only washed with horizontal strokes, top to bottom. No swirls ftw.

Curious, what's your engine code? What part of "the motor" is forged anyway? The GTR doesn't come with forged pistons (I believe), but your Juke does? And rods? And crank?

Another alternative is use the foam brush, just to blast the foam on your car, and then use a wash mit to scrub. Although, some washes will not permit this.

I use The Wave on Scurfield near DQ.

I rinse and suds up with their stuff.. Every single time I have asked if I can use my mitt, I've received a 'yes'. When it's dead I ask if I can break out my bucket. Never been a problem. They have ceiling strobes that flash if there is a line outside.

Run through the premium Shell touchless when I fill up every other week.
