Might have to get rid of the Amazon app on my phone. There's nothing to do at night except look at stuff to spend my money on

Here's something I did today lmao

Door handle was broken so you can only open it from the inside. So I took the latch off, so it didn't close at all, then tossed on this sucker. Golden.

Is this real life?

Learned something neat today at work.

When the converter station is finished they're going to build a Faraday cage that connects the two man-doors in each of the 4 valve halls so that you can actually walk into the room to make sure it's not on fire. If you were to walk outside of it you would essentially be struck by lightning and die since it's 500kV and around 2000 amps.

Not too sure if that's due to carona discharge, or being a less resistant path to ground.

The humidity in the room also has to be kept around 15% max IIRC, if it gets any higher the water in the air could conduct electricity and cause a short, which would blow **** up.

Also, apparently if **** goes really south the limit of approach to the thyristors is around 4m (inside that = death), so you'd pretty much have to belly crawl out.

Had to double check with the foreman who told me this because I thought he was ****ing with me.

New favorite phrase is "safety stand down"

Because the grounding and bonding isn't completed inside the converter station we can't touch any metal since there's lightning within 30km... Which means extra long lunch

Why should the price of the vehicle determine if it's FWD, RWD or AWD? Especially since Honda kind of has a history of making great fwd vehicles, and, every Type-R has been FWD. They're also lighter and (correct me if wrong), they have less drivetrain loss.

Its still just a fwd car though.... Its not even AWD. And it looks like a 12 year old designed it while playing a need for speed game by tossing on every aftermarket option available. Nowhere near worth 60k.

Even the RS with more power and features isn't worth 60.

~$81,500 CAD (before taxes, $92k after Manitoba taxes) for a Honda Civic lol. I hope Honda does what Dodge is doing now where if dealerships want to markup their Demons they won't get allocation.
Not to sound like a fanboy, but it's not just for a "civic".. it's for a Type-R, and, it's the first one to be sold in North America.

But yea.. the markup is retarded. Someone my dad knows bought one :(

Pulling cable right now and 90% of the cable runs are 69 meters :D

Slightly intentional, but also coincidence.

Cars have gotten faster and better but people haven't, but largely no rhyme, no reason..and yea it's a cash grab but instead of having to remember where everything is or setup your gps to remind you, just don't speed. That being said, I know the location of mostly every photo radar intersection of Winnipeg just from driving around at my last non-electrical job

I'm now 43 hours away from being a lvl4 apprentice. Raise soon™, car parts never®

Saw that, hopefully there'll be an app out soon that pings when close to one of those areas. I just got a GPS Tracker for my dashcam that pings when close to redlight cameras, just need one of radar spots.
Have you tried not speeding?

Thinking about buying a Pelican case to take my PlayStation up north in since my laptop is ancient and a POS (bought in 07, runs Vista).

Anyone have a method of transporting their PlayStation (or console) for air travel?

Neat... Hondata released FlashPro for this Si extremely fast (compared to the 9th gen, which took a year-ish).

Quote
Available now from as little as $350 and 50 state emissions legal, the FlashPro for the 2017 Civic Si adds the most power and torque for any Civic Si. Also introducing the Hondata Sport mode; a revolutionary enhancement. In addition to Honda's suspension, steering and throttle improvements the Hondata Sport mode adds 27 hp and 40 lb-ft torque to make the best use of the Civic Si's sport mode improvements. Hondata's full throttle shift is the quickest way through the gears. Just dip the clutch and change gear with your right foot pegged to the floor. Hondata's full throttle shift algorithm cuts the engine power until the clutch is released. Eliminate your boost lag, improve your 0-60 and 1/4 mile times all while having a ton more fun.

Why didn't you list MPSS's? They are a bit higher than most of the other tires you posted though, for 245/45/18s they're $295/ea on PMCTire but a lot of like them. or Conti Extremecontact DW's, @Shaun used to run them on his WRX if I recall correctly. They're $235 for the same sizing, and Hankook Ventus V12 Evo2s (which I have), are $216/ea.

I think you should be able to find good deals on MPSS soon™  (I think...) since Michelin launched a replacement for them (the Pilot Sport 4 S)

You have Pilot A/S 3's listed, they're an all season tire, not too sure if you were aware.
