Hey guys! So a friend of mine gave me a bike. It's a Suzuki gs550ef but I'm not sure of the year because it had no manual and the owner had no idea but I'm guessing it s a 1984. Its been sitting for about 18 years and it hasn't run or had any oil in the bike itself the entire time. I put it the right oil and got the gas tank cleaned because it really needed it, and I got a new battery. Put some gas in it but there was a problem with the gas tank the guy forgot to plug up the whole. So by the time I got it back again I thought I would check the spark plugs again and one of the plugs miss threaded. So anyone wanna give me a hand tapping the header and potentially trying to get the bike started?

I assume you'll be taking the head off first? Also I suggest taking off the carbs and cleaning them, 18 years will really gum things up inside.

Awesome to get a bike for free! I would take every one of those I could.

already took the carbs apart they are spotless the bike had to have been cleaned before it was put away because the whole bike is looking pretty tasty

I'd start by fixing your spark plug thread issues. To do it properly will require removing the head. Good luck
