lol, I see your point.  I think the last course was just a tough one for you.  Usually people don't go backwards, similar thing happend to Igor. He was 5 seconds behind last race, but was a lot faster in the 2 previous events.

I think we should see how you do this weekend and that will give us a better idea of an accurate handicap for you.

Just a heads up, we had some some work done at the St-Andrews venue this week. A few of the big bumps and cracks have been paved over, can't wait to try the new and improved track! Hope to see you guys Sunday!

I lose my wallet frequently. It always turns up within a week or two. I have a spot I always put it do I don't lose it. But if I use it and don't put it back I'm screwed! So, I don't want to pay for a new license. Steinbach is a small town. Whenever I've been pulled over I just tell them I lost it but I'll find it. Then they do their checks and send me on my way. So my desire to purchase a new one is very low.
I have kept all my old cards. Can I just bring one of those?
I'm sure what to say here, It's the responsibility of all participants to adhere to the rules and regulations. An expired drivers license is not valid, neither is it a valid form of ID. Again, you still have a few days to find it or get a new one. Hope to see you Sunday.

I've got to check the results when I get home. But I don't think I'll improve on that 7 seconds difference cause I got even worse in the last event. I can understand if I went from 12 to 7.
If memory serves me right you drove 2 completely different cars, neither being your car. That might have something to do with the times discrepancies  ;)

Coach, I'm willing to try is as a one time thing. That being said, expect 4 full out banzai runs on my part.

Ok let's base it on our fastest run on Saturday. The difference between our fastest run will be the handicap (cones counted)

I've never autocrossed before.  I'm in for the $5 challenge.  ;)  There's nothing like a little money to motivate you to push your skills further.

Corey's tip: NEVER try to drive faster.  That leads to more mistakes on turn entry, which then results in you driving wide around the turns and going further than everyone else, and then you can't get on the throttle early as you're still trying to get the car turned to avoid the cones on the exit of the corner.
Instead: Get on the throttle as early as you can while still having a clean exit from a corner (or a complex of corners), be 1" off the key cones, drive more precisely, attack the back of slalom cones, and brake decisively.   Once you get above mid-pack the driving part is automatic, it's the mental approach that separates 20th place from 5th place.

I'm really looking forward to the Level 2 school on Saturday!  This is a fun school where we pretty much focus on all of the above stuff.  (You need to have done Level 1 first before entering Level 2)

A one time thing chris ? it will have to be at least 2 time because if you beat me even with the 3 seconds you give, I will want another shot and a little more time depending on the difference.  If I beat you, I would think you would want another shot at me but give me less time.

Okay rusoman, that will work.  we will give you one cone if you hit it during your best your best run.  That will help establish your handicap for the Aug. 11/12 event.

Corey if you drive with one hand holding the steering wheel by the bottom, your in........lol

Haha, no.  I'm going to stay out of this one.

It's cool to have someone push you.  I remember my first events, a friend and I started at the same time.  I finished dead-last for the first 3 events, he was 2nd or 3rd last.  On the 4th event I finally got him - I was 3rd last and he was 2nd last!  IN YOUR FACE!!!  LOL!  That was 12 years ago now, but I still remember it well...
