Years ago when my car was on the road I had a tire shine that came in a bottle and was applied with a sponge. It was a semi gloss (not that super gloss wet look) and it smelled like grape. I can't remember what kind it was or where I got it..

I went to Part Source on the weekend and all they had was various tire shines in spray form. I don't care for the sprays because it gets everywhere, on the wheels, paint, floor of the garage, etc..

Any recommendations for a decent tire shine that's not a spray?

    Mcguiars Gold Class Endurance.

This is what you're thinking off. I think you can only get it in the states now though.
I stocked up on a handful the last time I was down there.

        Thanks for the options guys!!

It wasn't turtle wax, I think it was that Meguires but the bottle looked different. Either way, a few options to try, thanks!

I picked up the sonax gel from speed factor. If you want you can try mine on a tire. I could bring it to fnl but that's a while from now. I'm happy with it. It was $18 if I remember correctly.

I've been using this stuff for years.  Goes on nicely with an applicator and leaves a nice semi gloss to matte finish.  Lasts for a while as well!

Are you spraying it on a rag than wiping on the tire?

I seem to remember that stuff being super high gloss when I used it. Mind you, that's probably 10 years ago lol

I spray it on a tire shine applicator like this:

Wipe it evenly on for a semi gloss finish.  Keeps it a nice matte black for a week or two, as long as the weather holds out.

if its not too late already, i also use Meguires Hot Shine.   It lasts about 1.5-2 weeks depending on how much you drive and weather conditions.    I normally just spray some on a rag and go to town.   Getting it off your hands, just use some degreaser, or some fast orange.

On a scale of 1 to 10 how hot would you rate the shine?

I've used this and currently have a bottle as well.  I've only ever sprayed it directly on the tire, no wiping it off after either, and it is hands down the shiniest, wetest looking tire shine I've ever used.  And i loved it for that.

                                      7/10.

The only downside to it for myself it the longevity.   If it lasted longer like the Poorboys stuff does, id go much higher.

Also, i forgot to mention...   When you use it on a rag and apply it, it leaves a semi-gloss finish, not a totally glossy finish that blinds you or sticks out too much.

If you can wait and are willing to shell out for the poorboys, i would probably go that route.   If you're looking for something right away, the hot shine is a good alternative IMO.

Yeah, that's not what I'm looking for. I'm looking for a light gloss, clean look.
