Has anyone tried these all weather tires before?

In my mind it's going to be a compromise between winters and all seasons with better cold weather traction but not as good as dedicated winter tires.

How was your experience with them?

I used a set of the Nokian WRG2's as winter only tires after one summer on my last car - no complaints whatsoever, worked excellent.

I've never heard of that term before. Is this a brand new tire rating?

Yeah they came out a few years ago with these all weather tires that are supposed to be decent all year round plus they have that snowflake and mountain symbol for winter use.

I've also tried the Nokian WRG2. They were already installed on the car I had bought, thought they were winter tires. Only found out a while after that they weren't. They worked exceptionally well.

              They're mediocre year 'round.

                Exactly..
I tested these tires back to back and they are all seasons. They're popular because they fall under the MPI winter tire finance program.

In my experience they were better than all seasons in the winter but not as good as winters. And they were worse than all seasons in the summer, wore pretty fast but probably better than if you used winters in summer.

It's like multi tasking, do a bunch of things in a decent manner but not as well as dedicating to one thing.

an all weather tire is literally a hard winter tire.
it's fancy marketing, an "all season" tire that's better in winter than in summer.
same idea as some pickup tires that have the snowflake, they are alright in winter, and pass all the minimum requirements for the 3 peak snow mountain.

i'll try to update the tire info thread with details on all weather tires

Nokian has the best all weather tires. I had a set on my civic and they lasted four summers and four winters before they had only 6/32 left.
