Hi everyone, I've never done a journal before so we shall see how it goes, Welcome.

I started looking for a daily to replace the Legacy following school back in February. I started by chatting with Kirby ( @kirbssssss ) over at Winnipeg Subaru. He was able to get me out on a few test rides to see how different vehicles compared(go see him for any subaru needs). Coming from a twin turbo vehicle, its extremely hard to go to a new vehicle and lose 100Hp & 100ft-lbs(Crosstrek/NA Forester). I had settled on the '14+ Forester XT Limited, it just took time to save up and find one. Fast forward to June, I welcome my new daily, exactly what I was hoping to find. Brought her back from Regina, safetied that week, just waiting on plates.

The overall goal for this vehicle is to be reliable, efficient (this is relative to everyone, but so far averaging 9.8 L/100  Considering this is using 91 octane instead of 94 octane, and thats with spirited city driving and a it of highway), and able to tackle any condition. Some A/T tires, a small lift and a panda look will make it something of its own.

Toolless oil changes. Not that it's a big deal to break out the socket set, but one time purchase and install and I'll never have to get oily for the life of this vehicle

What's a battle wagon without a few scars eh!? Nothing a few holes and Ziptie stitches can't fix for the time being.

Going to stitch it up and debadge the Subaru, symmetrical AWD and Forester badges tonight

I'd be afraid it would get knocked open and then your engine blows up which would probably void your warranty with a drain bolt like that.

Are you going to order a oil vacuum to suck the oil out? I want to get one for my car so if you are let me know and maybe we can get a deal on buying two?

Mazda 3, so green it starts decomposing as soon as it's built.

I fixed one like that on my saab bumper pretty easily.

Plastic weld (or just melt into the cracks) sanding and a touch of bondo.

Then plasti dipped the center lip section black like the grilles.

                                              Before

                                              After

Might be an option for you.

That could be something that can be done... ive never bondo'd or done any body work before... maybe ill try on the GF's car :P

drew up and made an extension for the Grimmspeed plate relocater. lost the first drawing and had to remake it... forgot to include the pivoting brackets length in the second drawing... oh well. its a tad long than i want but its painted and mounted... its not bad or anything, im just picky... i think it'll look good when its plated... MPI is as slow as molasses when it comes to everything

eventually when i get a push/rally light bar the location may have to be adjusted to allow the lights to mount.. at which point it wont feel so far away from the bumper

Honestly its very easy. Id never really done anything like that before either and it turned out pretty well. Especially because it only cost about $30 to do.

Only part i was nervous about was welding (melting) the bumper back together. But even that wasnt too bad.

It would probably match up really well with your grilles too.
