Can't tell, but is your forester on lowering springs?  Loving the look of the 17's with meaty tires.

I don't think he did any suspension work. The Forester STI comes lower from the factory.

Ah gotcha.  Like the height of it and the wheel and tire combo fill the wells really well.

Thanks, yes its on stock suspension and the tires are 1.7"  taller that stock, summers will be a bit smaller but I will most likely lower it on springs.

Sound deadener that was on order finally came in. Deadened the passenger front door last night, 25% method on the outside door (more like 50%) and 100% coverage on the inside door panel.

I often use the OEM vapor barrier to create a template for the new piece of sound deadener, so i try to keep it in one piece when removing it. I also created an ABS plate to cover the largest opening on the door.

Did you put the vapor barrier back on afterwards? Are there any issues with not putting it back on?

No I do not put the barrier back on, the butyl under the foam works way better to seal the door anyway

Put the summer wheels on this weekend, I'm pretty happy with the fitment. Kinda wish they were a higher offset but thats just the ricer in me coming out. Tires are currently 225/40/18, I plan on bumping them up to 245's in the future, but they're practically brand new so not yet.

Winters are 225/55/17, here you can see the side by side comparison in fitment.

Wheels look good, but any plan to drop it? The gap looks so much bigger compared to the winter tires.
As for the hood, I think its a little too subtle to warrant that much work. I'd just get some vinyl eyelids or something to get the same effect

Yea it definitely won't look as clean, but it just seems like a lot of money/work to do all that for something that's hardly noticeable, and doesn't make a huuge difference in my opinion.

I have to agree with Colon. It took me a while to notice what was different in the photos as it is such a small item that might be missed by a majority of the people. If you're up for it tho I say do it.

I'm a big supporter of clean and oem looks, this is a subtle but good looking mod in my opinion, thats kinda the beauty of it, but its also a ton of work to do it full out, so a vinyl type eyelid might be a better option.

I think they work a little better when they're more aggressive, something like this: http://www.slipstreamonline.com/vw/silverman-boser.jpg
At least then you can see there is something noticeably different. But I think that would be too aggressive for the forester, and wouldn't flow too well.
