So, Looks like she has come down with a case of the broken. lol
At the end of this past summer we were noticing a lack of power and a substantial use of oil. Rodney the lovely mechanic he is, had a theory of the head gasket leaking...
well... he was right. So, with the help of Dylan Hesom, we pulled the motor, (which was surprisingly easy apparently), tore her down, and found more problems...
Not only is the head gasket leaking, but so is the power steering pump, the turbo wastegate is cracked (unfortunately not a small one either), one of the past owners ran her filter less for an unknown amount of time and the fins in the turbo are completely dull and chewed up. And we pulled the clutch to see what condition it was in, and good timing, it was almost done too.
Then, on top of that, the case bolts would not loosen for the life of us! (yes, we tried an impact, & 3 different length breaker bars, ended up snapping a reducer lol, with the 3rd breaker bar they finally broke loose with me holding the entire side of the engine stand down with all my weight and Rodney pressing the bar with all his weight lol.)

Will post updates as they come

So, we have her completely stripped down, found out which head gasket was doing the leaking and there was oil in the same piston so we're assuming a ringland is shot in that one too.
One of the timing belt idlers sound done aswell, so we're just gonna do a whole new timing belt kit on her & just start fresh, one of the pistons had wear in the channel so it sounds like we're going to send the block over to Justin & a buddy of his @ Nemisis Tuning to take car of the machining and upsize the pistons for us!

Looks like you've got your work cut out for you! Are you planning on getting a bigger turbo while you're at it?

How does the block look? No scoring in the cylinders? Are you sticking with oem sized pistons?

It was in rough shape, it's a good thing we ripped her apart when we did,  there was scoring in the cylinders, a valve was bent, and yes the pistons are being upsized

That's great news. I take it Justin is going to tune it for more power after?
