I've been looking at a BRZ as well as a WRX. Any input of pros or cons of either?

I drive an FRS so I guess I would have some input on the BRZ.
    -super fun
    -pretty much useless in snow
    -not very "fast"
    -huge aftermarket support
    -very reliable (so far)
-not very roomy if you drive with more than one passenger
    -looks cool
    -fairly decent fuel economy

Im assuming if you are looking at the 15+ WRX's if you are comparing to the BRZ. I have the FXT that shares the same drivetrain as the WRX (CVT :( ), albeit, the valve spring and cams are slightly different between the two.

      Pros:
      1: Fuel efficiency is great
2: Twinscroll is quick to boost and pulls harder and quicker than a STI, although not as fast in the ¼ mile
3: Great supply of knowledge for tuning and aftermarket support
4: The FA20DIT platform can hit 300WTQ/WHP with minor bolt ons and a good tune.

      Cons - IMO:
      1: Stock map sucks
2: Stock throttle mapping is peaky and sucks
      3: Rev Hang
      4: Equal Length Headers

      Cures:
      1: Accessport + Tune
      2: Muffler Delete Axleback

Thats all I can contribute since I havent driven a new WRX or BRZ

      Welcome btw

It would be hard to compare the two since they are completely different types of vehicle. The one that will be better is the one that fits your needs better.

Do you have a second car to drive around or will this replace what you currently drive?
Do you require a lot of space in a car for moving people/things?
Are you the type of person that wants a lot of power right out of the gate or do you want to mod to make it faster?

This would replace my current car but I'm not going to purchase a car for a few years so I have some time to decide.
I would assume that the WRX has more space.
I wouldn't mod it a lot. Maybe some things but nothing super serious.
I have been considering the BRZ because it looks dope as hell in my opinion but I do like that the WRX has AWD which is nice for winter. The BRZ is cheaper by a little bit though.

Hard to recommend something for a few years from now. A lot of changes could be made during that time.

The WRX gives you a lot more space than the BRZ and you get the AWD instead of the RWD. AWD is nice in the winter but RWD is fine if you drive properly. I think the WRX also gives you more clearance. Yes the WRX costs more but you get a few extra bits (awd, turbo, room for 4, ect.)

Both cars have a lot of supporting mods but I think you're best bang-for-buck would be with the WRX if you are after power. My suggestion is to drive both before buying and see which one you like more. Each have their own pros and cons.

Also, try driving a vehicle with RWD in the winter before making a choice.
I drive a 4x4 truck, but when its in RWD, and if Im in any slight bit of a hurry, and have no patience for driving lazy and slow, it drives me insane. Luckily I have the option to put it in 4x4 for on those days, which, with a BRZ you'll be stuck driving like a grandma.
