Just getting some interest for the new creation we are starting. The new Hyundai Elantra 2018 GT is going to be coming to Canada with a whole new face and body. We - Local Hyundai Canada Field staff are planning to design one with some flare to show off this new car.

Our hope is that everyone accept the new build of this Hyundai Elantra GT and may be interested in how its been build up with bolt on additions.

Once we get the vehicle here, and start to take it apart, and rebuild we will post images and specs for those interested in looking at something other than the traditional vehicles used in the tuner world.

Thank you all, and I look forward to sharing this with you once we are under way!

I didn't even know they were building an Elantra GT wagon but I like it! I also like that you guys are doing something unique with it.
What I would like to see is some fat tires on it! Parallel with the body line. Perhaps some 255s? I see some wide rubber on some Audi wagons and I think it looks amazing. Makes the car look "smaller" with some proper fitting shoes.

Nope, not a bot! A real person! When was the last time an OEM had bots going into forums to post? :)

I am from Winnipeg and was very much into the scene, and now with greater corporate resources, it's a little easier to get a new fun project underway!

Thanks for the positive comments, I will take any / all suggestions provided they are positive and see what we can do.

Currently, the cat back system will be custom made as this vehicle isn't on the road yet. Coming from California, and having an option to contribute to the tuning and dB that it will produce should help in crafting a great modification.

      Thanks all!

What's the drivetrain like? How much power does it come with from factory?

Umm welcome? Looks like a combination of the lancer wagons (the way theres a bump protruding below the rear glass), a tiguan (general shape), and maybe somthing from an accident.. accent*. Otherwise looks decent, will it be offered with the 2.0l turbo seen in the veloster, genisis, etc. ?

Interesting that they would do 2 different rear suspension setups for the same car.

IMO, This needs a 2.0T.... Why sacrifice power when you can easily just adapt the drivetrain from another model (in this case the santa fe....)

The 1.6T is a Turbo, albeit not 2.0 but I think there was method behind the madness. They know this the type of motor setup which is needed to get the demographic interested in the vehicle. However, this opens up the options of modifications to larger turbo + other customizing.  :)

I guess, but in my mind it would be more cost effective and simple to only have to test and design one setup vs 2 entirely different setups.

Guess that's why I'm not in charge of those kinds of things lol

Hey, I am not in charge of that either, I just show the product and make what we have work for the consumer. The hope is that we have a winner with a new 2018 GT and some simple modifications to air flow and ride quality.  :)

This should be wicked.. Ima keep an eye on this thread. Upgraded brakes that compliment sportier wheels and tires. ideally 4 pot front 2 pot rear.. Or at least 2 pot front and back with slightly larger rotors, upgraded pads. Not sure how much room Hyundai has for changes on size due to r&d /production cost to change/ i.prove improve the components of the brake system, if larger rotors and or brackets are not interchangeable from other Hyundai models.

Sounds like the same engine as the Veloster Turbo.
It will never have enough power until I can spin all four wheels at the end of the straightaway in high gear.

2 piston front? My fiat will have 6 piston front...

New GT comes in 2 power train variations:

                                            Standard:
                                            2.0L GDI engine with 162hp

                                            Sport:
                                            1.6T GDI engine with 201hp

Looks more than 100 to me.

It will never have enough power until I can spin all four wheels at the end of the straightaway in high gear.

Glad we got some people talking, now we simply need the first one, and get it started to hit the street. Can anyone provide any dates/times when events are held in the city? We would like to of course attend where and when possible.
                                                Thank you.
