Anyone running a nameless axleback with muff dels or muffs?
Was wondering how loud it is in person and if you get any attention from the city

not sure if this is the right thread to start in.

I just put a Nameless Axleback 3" tips with muffler deletes on my 2017 WRX yesterday, so it sounds a bit different than your STI since I have ELH. But my thoughts so far on it:

    - Cold start is pretty loud for the first 30 seconds then it quiets down
    - Idling at lights you can't even tell it's not OEM
    - Driving around at 2k RPM it's not that loud
    - Stepping into the gas after 2.5k it starts to come alive
    - Drone isn't that bad, it tends to appear at certain speeds and isn't there at others. Going to work today I was doing a constant 60 kmph and I could hear the drone, but at 65 kmph I didn't.
    - I've managed to get a couple of afterfires which sound amazing, I was doing 120 kmph and could still hear them
    - Windows up you can still hear the exhaust and it sounds great

Overall I'm really happy with it, the install was pretty easy hardest part was a couple of bolts that were torqued down really hard but I managed to get them off.

Completely stock. I don't plan on doing anything else to my exhaust so that's why I went with the muffler delete for more noise. From everything I've read online and videos I've watched if you're planning on doing a turboback get the 4" or 5" mufflers otherwise it will be raspy and very very loud.

Hmmmmm those lovely first gear exhaust pops. One of the reason why looking for parking spots at work became my favorite thing. lols

How long have you had your axleback for? muff deletes too? How's the attention from 5-0?

Yep, same set up. About a year and a half I think. Attention will all depend on how you drive it, except on cold starts.

You have an STI tho, so results may differ.

The STI will sound great with it, I just got home from driving a bit and the afterfires give me chills everytime it's so good.

STI will be lower pitched, slightly louder, less raspy and chance of backfire (due to resonator), and of course mroe rumbly.

I dont have an EJ anymore but comparing the sounds of the FA vs the EJ, I personally like the EJ more. 10/10 would do if I had one

You have the 4" muffler on yours right?

Yea, they are straight-through-baffle cans. They mostly change the note to a deeper sound

If possible I'd like to run muff deletes. But like you guys said it most likely be louder than the WRX and carry too much heat lol.
