Definately won't see me out at all this year on sundays.
VIU/Cops have killed cruise night.
My car's not very illedal, but still has some things on it I could get ticketed for, and its not worth the risk,.

I'll be out every sunday night, I just won't be going near portage this year, I'll be going to tims on main and staying close to home.

I have a good feeling a new meeting spot will be the safeway on henderson by the new CP trail, which is 2 mins from my house so I'll be going there too if that's the case.

People start showing up there around 5-6, but it gets banging by 9-10...so many cars last year that we had to go over to the jumbo video because they won't let us park in the shoppers anymore.

Tims on Main sounds good to me, I can use the perimeter to get there and back. It's supposed to rain tonight though.

Ya, the tims on main is good cuz the shops across the street are all closed so we can use that. I'm sure we could even use the co op parking lot once it's closed.

Everyone is being pussies lol the reason it's gone it shut is because people give up and actually don't go cruising likethe cops want...what happened to the old days where the cops couldn't control it cuz there was just way too many right hand drives. Yayaya say what you want but in the end people are just not doing it right no more.

it doesnt matter how many rhd we have. we had the keneston parking lot full one cruise night and viu pulled in and got 40 cars that night and only on rhd car passed. and now with the police chopper no one would even dare to try and run

The kids ripping around in their parents cars, and the teenagers with their 92 civic hatches with straight piped canadian tire fart cans racing eachother down portage are who ruined it for us. If everybody cruised around and met in lots and just chilled like our parents did back in the day, there wouldn't be VIU.

Agreed, if there were more guys just out to cruise rather than race off of every stop light things would be much easier for the rest of us.  The unfortunate reality is, for every 1 person that's out to just see their buddies and talk cars, there are 2 or 3 idiots giving us a bad name.

This could be a good spot.
We could start it up later on once everyones cars are out, and just have a "meet" there on sunday nights?
Maybe it would catch on with others in the car scene as well.

Exactly. Thats why having controlled car meets and car clubs is a better way to go about this whole issue in Winnipeg. Show winnipegers that not everyone fits in "idiot" group and that there are people who take the culture seriously. VIU and the cops used to be a huge threat but I think it might change once they start handing out more tickets to the average joes driving around. Hopefully enough people,  more higher up people, get pointless tickets and take a stand against the harassment. One can only hope.

I really hope this is what happens.
Also hoping that the increased police force handing out more ticekts does just trickle down to having it taken out on the "tuners" or "cruisers" or whatever you want to call us.

It's going to happen. If almost no cruisers are out on Sunday's. Who's left on Portage? All the tards and the minivan's with broken tailights. Cops have to reach their quota somehow and those are easy targets.

Exactly! In a way the cops are definitely going to start stirring up trouble with the common people. That or they will start targeting car shows if they really are after "tuners"

Colin, you're deep in the "VIU is out to get me bandwagon". Give me your car this summer, i'll daily it, car show it, AND Sunday night it, and guarantee I never get pulled over. There were at ONE carshow, and that was new Heights to Harvest. They were INFORMED of the car show that was going to be there, and there was complaints of some people ripping down Regent to and from the show. They also posted further down Regent closer to Plessis, which is quite a ways from the Fastlane lot.

I'll pass.
I've dailied it since I got it, and been to most shows and went out on sundays too.
No I haven't been pulled over or inspected by VIU lately(I was when VIU first started going out on sundays like 4 years ago)
But in my opinion, its really not worth the risk, to have to take off the things that are illegal, because it would require me putting additional money into my car to "fix" things that don't need to be fixed.
IMO its not worth the rist to have to pay for all the BS tickets, or to miss a day off school to fight said ticket.

This is just my opinion, but when you get inspected, don't post threads complaining about it, because you fully knew that it could happen.

As a car enthusiast, I know the risks that come along with modding my vehicle. What's the point in buying a vehicle, and modding it to enjoy it, if you're never or almost never going to drive it, to get the chance to show it off and enjoy it? Might aswell just sell it. If I do get inspected, I'll take the hit, and i'll "fix" what they tell me is wrong. Which, I already know what I'll need to do, and I already know what I'll do to repair it.
