    Small update:

I took off the Project Kics spacers and put on the cheaper Ichiba spacers. The Project Kics were not hubcentric and the vibrations were really starting to annoy me. The Ichiba spacers came with hubcentric rings that fit just right and the car drives a million times nicer. Lesson learned.

Did you install the extended studs yet?  I am thinking of getting some and I wondered who installed yours.

Have you thought about getting a performance alignment?  It looks like you are on a stock alignment (no camber) and you might benefit from some negative camber in the front.  I was able to get -1.5 deg on the stock camber bolts.

I had to install the extended studs to run these wheels. The stock studs are far too short even with only a 10mm spacer.
I pressed them in myself. I will be ordering coilovers soon and will get everything properly aligned then.

          Small Update:

The car has started making loud clicking noises when turning at slow speeds in parking lots and such. Took a look underneath and saw one of my ball joints was bad but this was not the source of the clicking noise. The inner CV Joints are bad so I'll be sending the half shafts away to be rebuilt at some point this month. This will leave me without a car to drive for a few weeks and that makes me a sad panda.

Wouldn't it be easier to just replace the axle?

Yes but since it's only the inner joint causing the issue it can be rebuilt for less than the cost of a new axle.

The rebuilt axles have been installed for 2 weeks now and the car feels great. The new ball joints probably helped too. She's almost at 45,000 miles now so I'm trying to decide if I should put money into the suspension or if I should be saving for a new shortblock just in case. Might have to get a leakdown and compression test before winter to see how she's doing.

                  Small update.

Did an oil change today and figured I'd take my intercooler off to see if there was any oil in there. Thankfully it was very clean.

I did notice something rather odd though.

Pretty sure the Pitch Stop mount shouldn't look like that. Ordered a Kartboy unit from Touge Tuning right after I saw this.

Forgive me, is a pitch stop mount equivalent to my rear motor mount to stop your engine from moving forward/backward around an axis (pitch). If so, why is it made of plastic?

Yes that's what it is. This is why it's a popular mod for Subarus. Ordered a forged one earlier today.

So last Friday I decided to install some of the stuff I had sitting around my basement. Unfortunately all the pictures I took somehow didn't save. So thanks iPhone. I guess I'll try to make this as interesting as I can without pictures.

First order of business was removing the front swaybar and endlinks. I was told the endlinks would probably only come off with some help from an angle grinder. Everyone that told me this was 100% correct. After the original swaybar and endlinks were out I installed my new 24mm Whiteline swaybar and Kartboy endlinks. The endlinks came with a bunch of washers and spacers which I had to use to get them as vertical as possible.

Next I installed my 22mm Whiteline swaybar in the back. Thanks to Tony's advice the removal of the original swaybar and endlinks was a piece of cake. The lower control arm bolts were on there pretty tight and there was no way I could fit my breaker bar back there with the exhaust so that had to come off. Whatever no big deal.

Next on the list were the Feal Coilovers. Pretty simple install. Take old struts out, put new shiny coilovers in. The damping is set to full soft on all four corners right now. I still have to lower the front a little bit to match the rear but that should get done today. Need to schedule a wheel alignment after that's done.

This all took me and my dad about 4 hours. I took the car for a short drive after and was very impressed. It feels so planted around corners now and there is absolutely no body roll. Very pleased with the final result. I will take some pictures of the final result once the car is clean and all this rain stops.

Haven't updated this in a while.

I have a week off from work so I decided to get some serious work on the car done. Since my father is also not busy this week he graciously offered his assistance. Today we removed the transmission from the car so we could swap out the clutch. The old one was worn down to the rivets already and slipping. Decided not to upgrade and just stick with an Exedy OEM replacement. Tomorrow we'll get the flywheel machined and install the new clutch.

After we get that beast back in the car I'm installing my Invidia 3" catted downpipe, Innovate Wideband, SMY Gauge Cluster, Feal 441 Coilovers and summer wheels and tires. I was gonna have my wheels powdercoated a different color but I couldn't make up my mind so I'll probably just leave them this year and hopefully decide on a color next year. Which is probably when I'll update this again.

New clutches are nice.... having gone through 2 of them already as well as 2 new flywheels... I can definitely say, I prefer this latest one. Went from stock to Exedy Stage 1 with the heavy duty pressure plate, don't recommend this setup at all. The new setup is the Exedy Stage 2 with the heavy duty pressure plate, and the feedback on the pedal, you can immediately feel when the clutch is engaged. Really nice pedal feel and holds up to the power perfectly.

This update has some good and bad news. Let's start with the bad news first.

I was doing some datalogging for my new e tune on Thursday. The car was running great and sounded better than ever until I heard this awful noise.

Looks like it's time for a new short block. Stay tuned for more updates.
