Exactly! It's the sound that determines its genre then to the middle groups like grindcore, death metal, Christian rock and so forth. Hell if you listen to Skip the foreplay, I've noticed they're lyrics are like hot103 music/ all about the sex and partying lol. **** damn is it sick beats.

I wonder how I didn't notice this thread haha. Alot of what's been mentioned is legit metal tho when I like the hardcore and "screamo" people don't like as much like Memphis may fire, asking Alexandria, Woe, is me, bring me the horizon so man warped tour is heaven in a field haha!

Randy of lamb of god said he's recording some stuff says his Instagram. Man he's a wicked skateboarder! Didn't see that coming at all!

Another couple bands that I would strongly recommend for those who love bass drops, and hardcore breakdowns would be 'As Blood Runs Black' and 'Motionless in White'. Sick bands. Also, for thrash/melodic/black, 'Winds of Plague' or 'FleshGod Apocalypse' are sick as well. I've been on a crazy FleshGod stint lately. Their drummer Francesco Paoli is by far one of the sickest drummers ever.

I don't see a big difference in sound from first to second album. Bring me the horizons sempiturnal is absolutely different then any of there stuff but jus can't stop listening to Can you feel my heart? It's sick once you give it a chance.

Don't like thrash :/ I like other metal like scar symmetry, sonic syndicate, soilwork.

Really like Thurisaz for melodic metal! I forget there album name but its something rhythm and it was before the 2011 album. So good!!! Found em from a friend who found them on MySpace lmfao!

I hate how all that remains has softened up alot int hard rock IMO. The fall of ideals was there best album.

Unearths oncoming storm was mind blowing and better live!!!!! Ah so many concerts! Oh and hate how inflames has changed as well. After Come clarity they got soft.

Scar Symmetry is one of my favorite bands. Holographic Universe and Pitch Black Progress are my two favorite albums by them. In Flames has been hit and miss for me mostly. Their new album has some good songs on it but they've had better. Clayman is probably my favorite album by them.

Another band that I used to listen in my younger days, and til this day, still like to reminisce to, is Bullet for my Valentine. They sold out their stuff and gone with the EMO scene.... which is extremely upsetting. In Flames, always liked them but they're new stuff is garbage I find. All that remains, same thing they've gotten lamer... Avenged Sevenfold, with the passing of their drummer, have gotten softer, but they're style has not died down which is REALLY nice to see. Their melodics are still Stellar!

I've seen Sonic Syndicate live. They put on a pretty damn good show but I was way more into power metal back then. I'll give them another listen though.

Anybody here listen to any folk metal like Eluveitie, Equilibrium, Ensiferum, Wintersun?

I listened to some christian metal songs on youtube. On most of them I can't get the lyrics. And since metal by itself sounds very aggressive I just don't get whats "christian" about them?
Seems some bands just like to call themselves christian to tap into the christian demographic.

The case is usually the problem. I've read a few forums about this issue. Quite common actually.

I've been listening to gypsy punk lately.... Anyone familiar with Gorgol Bordello? It's kind of fun music lol. "Wonderlust King" and "Wearing Purple" are good songs.
