Completely custom build from the ground up. Follow us as at Speed Factor Racing as we swap in a JDM MR2 Turbo 3SGTE (RWD) motor into a 7th Gen Front Wheel Drive Toyota Celica. This is a custom swap with little to no documentation available. Only a handful of these swaps have been completed in the world.

Here is the car being prepped for the motor.

RWD JDM 3SGTE Motor installed & mounted.

Custom fabricated mount.

Another shot of a custom fabricated motor mount.

Stay tuned as we update this build!

Some general maintenance.  New clutch/flywheel, wires, plugs and O2 sensor.

Wiring up the AEM EMS 4 for the car.

We have a set of axles currently being fabricated right now and they should handle plenty of power in the future.

Check in on the mr2 Celica family thread once in a awhile. He's frequently posting. Everything's being custom fab'd so it's a slow process.

Yes our fabricators are working on this every day.  Because this is such a complex swap it has been a little slow due to lack of documentation for the swap.  Also a lot of the parts on this vehicle are custom hand-made/machined. Only a handful of these swaps have been done successfully in the entire world.  How well those completed swaps run is another story. We are crossing our fingers for spring time date for this vehicle to be full up and running/tuned with the AEM EMS-4 unit that had to be custom wired into the vehicle.

Vehicle is finally up and running!  First start up using a custom-wired AEM EMS-4 engine management unit.   Now we will spend time on the finer details of the car over the next few weeks.

The 3SGTE Swapped Toyota Celica is up and running on our dyno! Check out the video. Due to customer request, we could not release the dyno results. However, with the stock turbo and a boost controller we made a surprising amount of power.
