My favourite part of this is that lights need to meet DOT, SAE, OR CMVSS. Certain E-code lights do meet CMVSS
I have a feeling i'm going to have to fight them on it though.

Also you would need to have windshield sprayers, which would most likely be gone without the hood.

Still legal though. As long as no moving parts are visible or able to be touched then your fine.

People have made note on the forum here after talking to police though that "if they see you driving without a hood, it's an invitation to pull you over, and they will make sure they find something else to ticket you with"

I have no idea where that's written. Source? But if that's the case, then for most vehicles it would not be legal.

Not every car's belts are at the top of the engine bay. I think they are referring more to a clutch driven fan that might be exposed. As long as your moving parts have a shroud covering them it would be fine.

But they enforce it. I'm only going off of what I've read on here from others. I don't remember what thread it's in, but someone had asked an officer and what I wrote before was their response.

Let's stick to facts whenever possible. Especially since we're trying to lessen the confusion.

Again, this isn't law yet, but mpi goes with it, so the cops may or may not. They're in the process of putting it in mpi's inspection standards.

So in short, some of us may be able to put our proper fitting headlights back in?

Dezner, Evo 1-3 headlights are DOT.. You didn't need to swap in Colt/Mirage headlights. Yours were fine.

Yes basically, and you should never have to change tail lights, or marker lights. Except adding a reflector or something on the side. It's looking like thats what i need to do on the back corner of my car.

Left-hand travel market headlights (JDM, UK, Aus/NZ) are not eligible.

Mine did not say DOT on them anywhere. Corners too. Tail lights were good though.

Thats the point of this bulletin. They dont "necessarily" have to say dot, some e-code lights are legal, as long as they're designed for right hand travel roads. And as this states corners don't need dot, and neither do taillights.

I phoned the number on the bulletin and talked to Marcell.  I was told that if the only markings on the taillights was JIS, then it is a fail.  JIS with proper Ecode is ok.
