Awesome post Eddie! I advise everyone to have some sort of recording device on when pulled over by a cop. Its perfectly legal and you don't have to inform them they are being recorded. Some cops act like complete assholes and in most cases you can use the recording against them in court if it ever comes down to it. I got a voice recorder app on my homepage for quick access.
I know I'm bringing my gopro whenever I go for a cruise this summer. I've already had some trouble with asshole cops being dick towards me a few years ago and last year I didn't go out much since my car had been in the shop for most of the summer but this year I'm not taking any chances.
I hear that ma man. I keep the contour recording when I leave the house. Rather be safe then sorry.
Fool Proof: put your radar detector in your glove box and lock it.
they will break it open if need be.
I hope that is true. Also, if a cop wants you to follow him to a VIU do you have to?
Foolproof: keep a large, addressed, stamped envelope in your glovebox, if pulled over stuff radar detector in and seal envelope. It's a federal offence to open someone else's mail.Disclaimer: I have no idea if this would actually work or not, but the logic is sound.
^ all true in there own element however if there are reasonable grounds to believe that you are hidding something an officer is auth to use as much force as nesscary to conduct a search. There are exemptions to getting search warrants ie telewarrant and there are provisions that allow searches without warrants. A policemens job is more about articulation ie if I can say why and for what reasons I searched and if there valid I win ;P lolThe mail/letter idea no good as I could pick it up and feel whats inside "this aint mail..." busted lolLocked glove box would be broken into for a radar detector esp considering laser radar has radar detector detector... and lasers are precise. If you the only one on road I would search whole car...if multiple cars ur prob not speedin.
