Sold my Ruckus a while back, was undecided on what kind of motorcycle I wanted. Was originally thinking of building a Cafe racer, however 95% of our riding is done on the highway and those bikes do not look comfortable on long distance trips. Long story short, picked up this bike for a good deal. 2007 Honda Shadow VLX 600. Bike is from the US, the colour is not available in Canada. 4000 miles, so far it is very clean. Bike is completely stock at the moment.

Here she is the day we brought it home, I'm the 3rd owner and the last two were older guys. Picked it up in Carman, MB.

Put temp insurance on it for 10 days, removed the rear seat because as an Intermediate class 6 license holder we aren't allowed passengers anyways. Put 120 miles on it so far.

Haven't decided which route I'm going to go with this build. At the moment, thinking flat black paint on the tank, fenders etc. While leaving the engine, pipes etc chrome. Going to go through the bike this winter and clean/redo everything, fluids etc. Will be doing louder pipes, possibly a HID headlamp, a tach, either tinted windshield or larger one, and saddlebags. Looks like a nice machine to start out with.  I'd be leery of dumping a few bucks into it just yet, you might end up tossing it in a year or two for a 750 or something bigger no?

Undecided yet, with the way my job is I am rarely in town so not sure how much I will be riding it. Paint, pipes and saddlebags will be done this winter because that's cheap then next season will decide if I want a bigger bike or not. If not though, will be doing more work to it.

Probably going to end up selling this bike in the beginning. Need something heavier for the amount of highway use I get out of it, won't post a for sale ad until next season but if someone decides they are interested in seeing it while in storage please PM me. This would make a great starter bike, or a great bike for someone who rides in the city with occasional highway trips!
