The AP1 has the F20C, a hand-built balls to the wall engine that is certainly not subpar. It produces 120hp per liter. It redlines at 8800 and cuts fuel at 9000. It was (and practically still is) the epitome of factory 4 cylinder N/A performance. The AP2 came with the F22C, that produced a little less power but a little more peak torque, and a lower rev limiter from the increased stroke. Guys who race the S2000 always prefer the F20C.
