A couple of small bits came in today, which gives me something to do while hungover on Sunday after my work Xmas party. Whiteline front camber bolts and a Whiteline postive shift transmission bushing. The bolts will give me 1.5 deg negative camber up front and the bushing eliminates the drivetrain slopping around. According to the marketing speak, both of these items will ACTIVATE MORE GRIP. I also decided to stop procrastinating and pulled the trigger on a short shifter and audio upgrade + backup camera.

About the audio stuff though... has anyone ever installed dynamat in a 5 to 10 degree garage? Im just wondering if I should get a better space heater before taking that on. It's insulated, just not heated very well.

Interested to know why you went with Visconti over some of the other tuners?

I found a guy in Toronto who had an un-used license and cable that he got from Visconti. Apparently Viscontis service is terrible, so I didn't bother getting the map. I'm going to use the FA20Club Stage 2 NA tune.

Good call, I was going to say I hope you read Visconti's reviews before buying that

Apparently he torched a customer's car and blew it off like it was no big deal. The fa20club guys are really quick at updating your maps and have great service

Kartboy shifter and bushing just arrived. Looks like I'll have a bunch of stuff to install this weekend

Got almost all of 1 side done. Did the dash with just a straight 3.5" replacement.

                  The door before

And after with 6.5" JL C3s. The tweeters are removable but for now I have them running in the driver. There isn't really anywhere in the door card where a tweeter would not look out of place, so for now they'll stay where they are.

Got some new Aussie market OEM trim panels and switches today. These come silver in every other market. I'm going to keep the silver dash center panel and steering wheel panel to maintain some contrast.

The two on the left are the door handles and the ring and switches are for the shifter surround.

A box was waiting for me when I got home too. I ordered some clear marker lenses from a dude in the states and as part of it, he threw in a box of random car show stuff. I had no idea how much there actually was

So yeah, if anyone wants to decal the crap out of their car, let me know!

Made a little more headway yesterday while working off an Xmas hangover.

Dynamat is now down on both doors and the passenger side floor. The tunnel had some existing mlv, so I just left it and went around. I'm not making an effort to do 100% of the floor surface, but I am doing more than is required because I have way too much of the stuff. I also did under the passenger seats, finished wiring in the amp, and installed the Kartboy short shifter.

And a comparison of the north American silver trim vs Aussie black trim

After deciding against a bbk, I ordered a full brake upgrade. I also got some perrin front end links since I don't have faith in the anorexic factory ones. When I did the sway bars, hotchkis included beefy rears but had you re-use the fronts.

The end links, Stop tech pads, lines, and motul 600 fluid

I decided against swapping the rotors since I don't see any functional upgrade to going slotted/drilled etc.

Oh and I ordered an AVO Stage 1 turbo kit today. Someone buy my borla header and takeda CAI please! (original plan was SC)

Yup, I'm fairly certain it will be the first FI FRS/BRZ in Winnipeg. Precision Toyota had an Innovate Supercharged FR-S for sale for a really long time, but haven't sold it yet as far as I know.

Nhil: Thanks, I ended up going through SpeedFactor. I shopped around to all the big vendors in the states and SF was extremely competitive on pricing even after factoring in duty/etc. I actually want to give some kudos and a bit of a shout out to SpeedFactor. They've been awesome to deal with and that's coming from a customer that's a huge pain in the ass to deal with (me). For example, tonight I couldn't make it before they closed, but they stuck around so I could put my order in and chat about other upgrades even though it was past their operating hours.

Anyways, the AVO setup comes with a conservative ECUTEK base tune from AVO for a stock car that puts out something like 230whp and 200ft/lbs on 92 octane @ 5psi. I figure that's a good baseline considering bone stock is something like 150whp. I'm still running the stock over pipe and front pipe, so those power numbers will probably be fairly accurate. I guess I have to wait a few months to find out :)

Progress tonight: Finished running speaker wires over to the amp mounting location and tapping into the reverse signal wire for the backup camera. All that's left is running video wire and mounting the camera and I will be finished with that end of things. One other thing I also accomplished was stripping one of the ****in torx bolt seat anchors so now I can't get my drivers seat out to lay some dynamat. Does anyone here have any idea how I can get it out? It's an E10 Torx bit. The ****ty part is that I read that they were extremely easy to strip if the socket isn't on 100%, but I'm retarded and didn't realize I was using an articulating extension.

I wish I had half my money too. It's all gone now lol  :hurr:

Ordered some extra goodies in anticipation of the larger one arriving:

                                        AEM failsafe boost/afr gauge
                                        Gauge vent pod mount
                                        Cusco AOS Catch Can
AVO drop in air filter for stock airbox
                                        AVO BOV

After 2 f'ing hours, I managed to get that stupid seat anchor bolt out and was able to finish the Dynamat on the interior. I've ordered a new seat bolt and a bunch of extras through work as a just in case. I also had time to mount the backup camera and run wires up to the deck. And finally, I removed the UEL header because (Thankfully!!!) I was able to find someone to buy it for near what I paid, so I'm pretty pumped that I didn't take too much of a hit there.
