    Looks like a clean machine Nick.  The way those are set up you can learn a ton and not kill yourself.

          My first bike is an 07 GSX-R600. I didn't find it overwhelming. Whatever bike you get, you MUST respect it, even smaller bikes power to weight ratio is more than most cars, but as long as your ride it properly I see no problem with getting a "bigger" bike.

            I think a lot of people don't think that it'll be overwhelming, but then they'll do something stupid that would be more forgiving on a lower powered bike and they learn a lesson the hard way.
