Nice build Matt, if you need a hand with bodywork i could lend a hand or two here and there. Cant wait to see this thing finished.

You should also turbo charge it this year, it is the turbo year after all lol.

Sweet thanks dude. Boost will be next year, if it happens.

I assume you mean 225/45/15. If you planned on the toyo r1r please PM me before buying. That tire has a few issues, not worth the money new in that size.

Sounds good, yeah, meant 45 AR. Nothing is set in stone, just aren't a ton of tires I've found in those specs.

Got a bit more sanding done, finished the hood.

Then Dane and I went to grab some more stuff to sand, like fenders and mirrors, but instead decided to test our luck with the drip rails...

Went surprisingly well. The guy used expanding foam, then fiberglass, then body filler. Couldn't have came off any easier. Don't mind my greasy half pony.

Excited with how well the drip rails went, I decided to also test my luck with the side mouldings... Jesus, was that a mistake.

Tons of body filler, super thick, with what looks like fiberglass. Looks like the guys built up the body filler to make the filled mouldings flow well with the car? I'm not really sure what the hell was going on, but the good thing is it's all strong metal underneath. Looks like I'm going to have to start sanding the side mouldings because the previous owner/shop tack welded a piece of metal in between layers of body filler for some really stupid reason.

          So angry.

I think I'll just end up ripping through some metal if I'm not careful, and end up putting a hole in my car, so sanding's the safer option.

Yeah, chipping away at the bondo is so satisfying yet so aggravating. I've chipped away a lot so far, so I think I'm going to get the sander out and start sanding away the side moulding portion. Hopefully it goes better than expected. At this point my hopes aren't very high as for what's in the side moulding. Thanks for the encouragement.

All you have to do is take your time with the grinder and as soon as you start seeing sparks stop grinding.

Chipped away a bit more of the bondo. It starts to really thin out up top, so I guess whoever created this monstrosity built up the body filler right up to the side moulding.

Getting really close to where the quarters were replaced, not too sure what to do around that area.

I don't know if I should strip the whole thing bare and then do my own filler on quarters or just sand the body filler down on the quarters.

I'll be taking some 40 grit to the side moulding area hopefully tomorrow so I can see what exactly is going on with that piece of metal in the body filler.
