SeñorScooby

I figured some of y'all may have never seen my build thread on the Ruckus. Well, here it is so you can see how she went from A to Z. The posts were separated by days/weeks, so I just added a tag to indicate the time lapse.

Here she is when I bought her new in May 2010, it's a red 2009 Honda Ruckus:

I kept it stock for about 2 months, and then I finally did my first round of mods:

At that point, I've done the following:

ATR CF Gas Tank Cover
ATR Engine Extension
ATR Lower seatframe
Jiangwayne Ultra Light Foot Brace
Relocated PCV
Reloacted front turn signals to be flush with headlights

To be installed:

ATR Low Stance Shock
MNNTHBX's Turtlehead, Dingleberry, Lazy Eye, and RRGS Drum Brake Adapter

-- multiple days have passed, you feel refreshed after your slumber --

Started the tear down today

It was my first time to take it completely apart, I still have to get the steering stem out though. I don't have the 32/54mm sockets so that's kind of a downer with the progress I made :(

-- multiple days have passed, you had a dream about kittens & zombies, a glorious day it shall be --

The kymco hub came in today, so tomorrow I'll prep the engine (remove airbox, bit of grinding) and slap on the fatty! Hopefully by the weekend I'll get the frame all prepped for powdercoating, need to do some shaving first :)

Worked on it a bit today, managed to shave off enough of the oil filler neck to get the fatty mounted on...

Starting to work on shaving the rear frame

I need to figure out a way to get the trimmed oil filler neck sealed. I'm thinking the best way is to just cut off enough to run new threads with a plug?

-- multiple days have passed, you awoke with no pants, what happened last night? --

Some of the latest pics from this week :)

Not quite done shaving the frame yet, but it will be done this weekend. Hopefully I'll get a shock mount welded on as well.

-- multiple days have passed, no notable events occurred --

Finished shaving last weekend:

And figured out a way to shorten the oil filler neck using a new plug:

And lastly picked up some new (longer) studs as I'll have to run a spacer and the tiny studs on the kymco hub wouldn't cut it:

-- multiple days have passed, you had a dream about a Datsun 510, you feel extra refreshed --

Some parts came in yesterday/today :)

Dem welds...

-- multiple days have passed, all HP refreshed! --

Slapped on the RRGS forks today!

Now I'm ready to get a rear shock mount fabbed up. I'm liking it's current stance so I'll probably fixate it as is. Here's a shot compared to myself and my dog:

-- multiple days have passed, Taco Bell is on the brain --

Test fitting the exhaust today to see what problems a fat rear end would cause...

It fits! But barely. I will need to bend it out a little bit and have a custom brace fabbed up in order to prevent rubbing from vibrations/bumps.

-- multiple days have passed, you wish you were regular again --

My dad finally had a free Saturday so we got right down to business.

Plopped her up on the temp work bench

Cleaned up a spot where the potential shock mount will be going

Created some templates out of cardboard and handed 'em off to my dad. Here's the end product:

Test fitting, side shot

Test fitting, rear shot

Welded and cleaned up, looks pretty clean!

All bolted up

The Turtlehead was pretty difficult to see at my scoot's current height, so we decided to drill some holes in the seat frame and snake the wires through

Everything (loosely) bolted up. It doesn't look 100% level yet, but it should be when I properly tighten up the seat frame (ATR is a pain in the ass)

I ordered a set of new tires, I've been having too many issues with this fat ass tire (it barely clears the shock, probably not during higher speeds). I'm going with Kenda K413's (130/90/10, both front and rear):

Should be arriving Monday and I'll get them mounted ASAP. My dad will be creating a rear fender next weekend, can't wait!

-- multiple days have passed, time flies when you're having fun --

Got my new tires mounted and all I gotta say is the rear looks a bit crazy (still seems pretty solid though)

Went a little bit wider in the front (130 vs 120/90/10)

It's so close to being ready for paint... I put it back together so I can figure out how to tuck those dang wires.

Lazy Eye! Looks great.

I'm tired of seeing those handlebars though, just need a BMX stem and I can mount my drag bar.

-- multiple days have passed, you begin to wonder how long this will take --

Picked up a stem today, went with a top load, so I don't think I'll have the binding issue some people have running the regular front load style stem.

-- multiple days have passed, glorious victory --

Back from powdercoating! Jay @ Ride Industries did an amazing job. Pictures aren't too great since my camera fogged up as soon as I stepped outside lol.

-- multiple days have passed, dreams of winning 1st place --

Sooo close to being done, with the exception of tuning. The purple in the powdercoat shows up nice in this pic.

-- multiple days have passed, it's time --

All done! Was in a car show yesterday and took home 1st for special interest vehicle at Driven!

It looked nice before you touched it.

Just kidding, I love the Ruckus and the way you've personalized it. Keep going!

That looks awesome! I have a stock 2009 Ruckus that I want to work on this summer. Not sure where to start though.

                              Two things to say
                              1. More than one ruckus was decided to be called rucki.
                              2. I now want to buy one and stretch it and drop my ninja 600 engine into it. Or like a 250 possibly because 600cc is huge for that little thing
