 >:(. I am being given the run around over a body kit. They already charged me for alignment adjustments and now the story is they didn't adjust it, they checked it. it was fine, and I paid for it to be already, today it went back in to show I had fixed other things, new ignition, new hood release cable, new door panel and it should have passed with that. I'm ****ing pissed because now my conditional 28 days are up and I could title it to the wife but then I'd be stuck paying taxes on it's book value... look. there is nothing wrong with thus ****ing car..... I will give someone double the inspection fee to just pass it and move on.... anyone. please help

don't give me any butthurt man I'm not asking that. I'm saying, I picked the wrong garage.
help me out before you jump. please?
if I come off as trying to get a hoopty through that's not it at all I'm just overly pissed off...
I bought this car "plated" the plate was stolen.
the dealer game me back $200 goodwill because he didn't know, it was a mechanic lean repo sitting in his impound and he was under the impression it was platable.

so if you know a good garage staffed with fellow enthusiasts, speak up please and thank you. my redneck small town moosomin inspector is in this for money... wouldn't you get a second opinion over $600 of alignment work that was fine 500 kms ago?

There are two sides to every story and we've only heard the one. I have no idea if the shop is trying to screw you.

In your statement of "I will give someone double the inspection fee to just pass it and move on", that is trying to skirt the rules.

I'm sorry what exactly are you asking for?

A mechanic to help you with a car safety?

It's the SK version of getting a safety, yes.

Never Heard of a bodykit and alignment fail safety.  Sounds like this car has a rebuilt title or something and youre trying to get a body integrity inspection.  Therefor they require the alignment to be in spec.

see if your right about integrity then I am being given the go around "because race car" baloney. I bought what I thought was a nice looking deal, fully kitted 99 black civic coupe with halos and a cf hood and rims and no rust. I think safety includes an alignment in Saskatchewan but the body kit failing is beyond me... I'm just bummed out.... it's the wifemobile/family cruiser it's not even vtec...
I'm told, it needs a passenger side ball joint adjuster, a passenger side rear shim adjuster, and I need to put the foam piece in behind the front bumper and re-make the welded steel lower supports for the kit out of HDPE plastic and screws instead so it will crumple up and break on impact.. this I have no problem doing! the first time it was in he had a problem with how rigid the lower supports were and I said ok I'll make plastic ones, paid him $160 for the safety, and more for alignment adjustments. so it's been aligned and now he's trying to say he did it again and all this is out and that is out.... I'm being given the gears guys can't you see?

Here in SK they check the alignment to ensure it's within the manufactures range & if it's not it's an automatic fail.

OP- Sorry about your situation, perhaps try some other towns along the way maybe in Broadview, Wolsey or Grenfel?

If the mechanic that did the alignment is the same mechanic that is failing your Civic due to an alignment then he should be liable for the work no? You said so yourself it has been less than 28 days.

                      Pictures of said Civic?

not recent but all that's different is the grill mesh in the bumper was blacked out.

Im no alignment guy but reading that sheet the initial was out on some but he adjusted some out of the min max range. So if he did fail it for alignment he put it there.

Sorry to hear about your situation it sucks. Just get the safety paper saying what it failed for and you then can fix it
