I know a lot of members work shift work and may work more than one job and may not abe able to make it out Fridays, so I thought an un official ,casual  meet at a local Timmies or something might be nice for people to just drop by say hi, show off your ride. This also might give the new people more of a chance to meet some of the regulars and talk more one on one instead of standing on the far side of the parking lot not mingling because of being intimidated by the large groups that are out Fridays.  That way the following Friday they might be more comfortable having pre met some of the regulars in a smaller venue.

There has been talk about this and wings on Wednesday and it has pretty much failed. I think meeting once a week (then usually a car show on the weekend) is enough.

Agreed with Travis. A lot of the issues you raise Jack are really non-issues, there have been plenty of new guys showing up to Fridays who have come and introduced themselves to me and what not.
Friday nights are meant for showing off our cars, talking, cruising, and grabbing food, I don't see the point in having the same thing two nights earlier on a smaller scale. Let's leave the weekly meets to Friday nights, gives everyone something to look forward to at the end of the long work week and something fun to kick off the weekend.

I'm usually out at tims on main 2-3 nights a week, never a set night or time, I just drop by to see who's there.

Fair enough guys! I wasn't really trying to raise any issues just create a few more opportunities for some of the newer people to kind of ease into the whole car scene thing.
I am a little shocked at the response though what was it exactly that Failed?
I wasn't aware this had been tried before, but I was curious to see what the response would be from the group as it stands at over 300 members as I wouldn't mind coming out one night in the middle of the week just to break things up a bit. I know I have had several conversations with other members and a lot was talked about everything from Hooters to you name it.

I am not suggesting everyone try and do it all AKA All the TopTier Events we participate in, but considering how busy everyone's life is I thought it would be nice to just jump in the car and go for coffee when the weather always seems to be so nice during the week LOL !

The guys who organized the Wing meet, are the ones who didn't show up. There were like 5-6 of us who just saw it last minute and decided to stop by, and ended up having our own meet.

usually people are pretty busy during the week. The wing meet during the week was all set up with like 10 guys going and then none of them showed up. like jesse said only couple last minute guys who never even said they were coming.

I'd actually be down for a mid week meet instead of fridays.

Maybe not every week but every other week yeah sure.

In my opinion. If we are trying to clean up the import scene. Having smaller groups meeting every day of the week is better than one giant meet. Just because it allows time for officers, other drivers and people walking on the sidewalk to adjust. Like shaun said. We are getting a ton of new faces at every meet now. How ever not sure how many of those new faces know what we stand for, and why we gather on fridays. Not everyone drives a import is a high school student with bad taste and have the urge to show it off the world. Once people start recognizing our cars(in a good way). Then boom. TTI mission statement has been met/reach. Baby steps my friends.

Besides if it 4-5 guys thats enough for a good meet. It not like we must need 30 guys for a coffee meet and cruise out. I mean it nice to. But not necessary. It's all about the good time.

If I am not busy during the week, I would not mind going for a cruise. Coffee, not so much. I drink coffee all day at the office. If I am going to head out during the weekdays, I would prefer to hit the streets.

Ok here is a confession I really hate coffee and donuts I was just using a coffee shop as a convenient meeting spot. Truth is it might be easier to meet at a shopping mall like St Vital on the far side between the bus loop and CIBC or at Kildonan Place where we met for South Beach Casino in front of the Sears etc. Meet then head out to Kildonan Park and throw around the football or something. There are lots of possibilities or stuff to do and Free is always good. Maybe even just giving your time for a couple hours one night every second week to help someone do something on their car.

One week we do someone's exhaust, change brakes on someone else's car another week. I say just pay it forward and help each other out. We have a lot of talent in the club and by maybe helping someone install a stereo, maybe that person might help with some with changing a headlight sometime later. All I wanted was to help build relationships and networking within the club. If someone has a question we can refer them to a member or supporting member vendor etc.. I would be willing to lend out the use of my garage a couple times a month. So with that being said I am looking forward to seeing some positive feedback and have a great week.

I will probably be doing my Back brakes this Wednesday night if someone wants to lend a hand. Yes I can do them myself LOL ! just it's always better with company. I gotta get a price from parts source tomorrow, since I am not going to be road racing the car this year I will simply get OEM pads to keep it cheap and save the labour doing it myself.

Hey themikewoo I don't want any "stuff" that can be smoked on my property Ca Piche!  Also please note my property has a few cameras, not all of which are visable LOl !

Should we make a thread in General for this? People can request help when they need it. Or make a new section for help requests, as Ken suggested in the suggestions thread?

Jack this is a good idea. Hopefully a bunch of people participate. Would be good for moral as well as getting work done to the rides. :-)
