I have an interesting question - Is there a product that is:

    - keyless entry
    - alarm
    - battery disconnect
    - remote start
    - rfid / keyless ignition
    - push-button start

For my 98 Forester, it seems that the keys / locks are easily defeated to steal the car, and it would be great if I could permanently bypass the system.

If there is such a system, would you normally carry it in stock, or would it be a special-order only kind of thing?
    Current Forester count: 1
    New business opening soon...

Hi Daniel, There is a few systems out there that offer what you are looking for. None of which would be offered through Compustar or any of our regular systems we deal with.  Please give us a call at the shop to further discuss this and go through a few different options. 204-415-4276. I will be gone by 7 tonight but the other Chris can help you out tomorrow 12-5 or I'll be back in the shop Monday.

That's no problem, Give me a call at the store to go over any options you might want. All our installations include keyless entry as long as you already have power door locks.
          204-415-4276, ask for Gonzo.

With your experience between Viper, Compustar, and Autostart which one would you recommend? Which one would have the least annoying exit sequence if any?

Out of all 3 of those Compustar has the easiest exit sequence for manual trans vehicles. It's a simple, out of gear and e brake up then open your door.  I also like Compustar the best as far as the remotes for both the 1 way and 2 way systems.

I don't suppose you have any kits for older carburetted vehicles?

Hey man, sorry for the late reply. I am not on the forum that often. We currently do not. I have seen some remote starters done on a couple vehicles where they rigged something up to have it work but we do not have any set kits or solutions for this.

Is it possible to install a remote starter in a 95 Subaru Legacy 5spd equipped with an MPI immobilizer installed after the fact?

The car was originally a BC car but deemed 'high risk' here so they forced me to install it when I switched insurance...

Or will I have to install a whole alarm/remote starter/immobilizer unit?

I have a 2010 dodge ram with factory remote starter. It turns on the heated seats and steering wheel automatically. If I go with an aftermarket,  will it still do this?

Put the key fob against your cell phone and then start it. Uses the cell phone sat to start the truck. Don't know how true it really is but I tested the theory with my dad's ram , parked at the back of the parking lot, couldn't lock/unlock or start it at the front of the store, then when leaving at the checkout tried starting it with the phone trick and it fired up
