@Ænimal great post sir! I have to 2nd everything mentioned there re: tuning and the importance of it. The OTS maps, while keeping your car relatively safe, are not the answer in any situation. I have to admit, I was fortunate for the time I had mine, it worked alright. However, now with a pro-tune, the driveability has gone through the roof and I would recommend getting a pro-tune to anyone.
Re: the tranny and diffs on the STI, the GD STI tranny is a beast! If anyone ever needs to change a clutch in there, please, please, for your own safety have a tranny jack and a hoist.

Re: clutch changes being that I mentioned that, I would completely recommend the Exedy Stage 2 for any application. With or without the HD pressure plate, the feedback on engagement is much more positive than the organic disc. Speaking from experience going from stock to stage 1 with the HD pressure plate, there was not a lot of feedback as to when the clutch was actually engaging, now with the stg 2 and hd plate, no chatter, but you know the moment that the clutch starts to grip the flywheel.

I think those are both EJ20K engines so they should swap right over. I could be wrong though.

I believe it should be a fairly simple swap as they are both ej20k engines.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Can someone justify this. I went to look at this wagon. They told me they invested $3000 in getting it safetied and doing an inspection. What I found was

When I asked for the price my heart sank. The salesman told me they want $12000 before tax/fees. Compared to the rest of the market it seems like they are asking a lot. What I want to know is what makes this car worth so much?

I took a look at this as well. Not in nearly good enough shape to justify anything close to that price.

But I wanted a WRX wagon something fierce so I went on trader found this thing low balled the offer and drove it back from BC instead.

Mechanically needs some TLC but no rust and the price was right.

For those who don't know about the JUN Super Lemon GDB Im bout to drop some facts on y'all

So this car pretty much hauled ass back when it was built, lapped 55.9 secs around Tsukuba back in 2001. They managed to snag the title from the HKS Evo VII which lapped 56.814  with *only* 582hp and it still had OEM metal body panels. It held the record for 2 years until the Cyber Evo lapped 55.8 but it took them 200hp more than the Super Lemon then the famous carbon bodied HKS Evo lapped 54 a day later.

A lot of the exterior was either one off custom pieces or modded JUN pieces and ran GTR sized Advan RG1 with Endless brakes. It also had a chassis mounted Sard GT wing opposed to a trunk mounted one

The engine was a EJ20 with JUN's 2.5L stroker kit with a split intake manifold, had a dual core V-mount intercooler setup and used a Trust TD06 turbo

The car was pretty much built so JUN could flex their engineering muscles and flex on everyone.

No clue where the car is now but hopefully it didn't get scrapped or sold off to some other country like most demo cars do

Can't remember what year his is but @Stoyka rebuilt a subie engine last year if I'm not mistaken. Might be worth asking him about the time vs. money on a rebuild before dropping 5k+ on a new engine.

Cost me about 2k to rebuild the engine in my STI-R (ej20k) not including labor, which was free cause I did it myself. If you just plan on daily driving the car and dont plan on going crazy for power Id just buy a used engine off one of the many JDM sites and straight swap it in. I think the vast majority of those places have a multi-point inspection process to make sure they don't sell you a junk engine. And they can be had for around $700-1200 plus shipping.

You could go with a 207 but depending on the year they had AVCS heads so youd need to swap your 20k heads over to that short block. Not sure, but the manifolds may have to be swapped as well. Ive never dealt with a 207 so I cant speak from experience.
