Not sure if anyone's interested, but I have a few years worth of pics and mods that I've done to my zuk. Figured I might as well post a build thread so people can know more about it. It's a 2008 Suzuki SX4 JLX with the iAWD system. This allows you to switch between FWD, AWD, or lock it in 4x4. Get's through just about anything. It's an auto since I share it with my wife and it's our daily driver. We had no plans to mod the car but being me, that didn't last long. I've done mostly cosmetic mods since there's still warranty on it and I don't want to void it. Here's the first pic I took the day we bought it in Jan of 2013. It's completely stock, has steelies and winter tires that are a size too small.

I had a Kizashi with the same badass AWD, and wanted an SX4 too. Miss that car. Look forward to your progress.

First thing to do was find a decent set of winter rims and tires. Found a set of 16" Tiburon rims that were powder coated black so I picked those up. Tires were on sale at work (Winkler Walmart) so I picked up a good set of winters in the right size on the cheap. I mounted the tires on the rims and balanced, then installed. Ended up selling the steelies and winters that came with the car so I pretty much broke even. I also found a nice roof rack at work so I picked it up too. Oh... and yes I have jeep stickers on a Suzuki lol. I owned a Jeep TJ prior to owning the zuk and I've always been a Jeep guy. I know it doesn't make sense but haters always gon hate haha!

Awesome! Always liked those. Saw a sweet RRM Kizashi at the dealer when I got the sx4. Lots more updates to come. Running out of time today though.

In the summer we took a road trip to Edmonton. On the way back we stopped at corner gas.

Next thing on the list was rims and tires. I did a lot of research on the sx4 forums to see what the best setup would be. The setup I liked most was a concave style, 18x8.5, +35 offset in either gunmetal, gold, or bronze with 225/45R18 tires. I checked kijiji for a good used set but there was nothing that interested me. Decided I'd have to suck t up and get a new set to get what I wanted. Not many options in the Winkler area for rims so I tried Velocity in Morden but they couldn't get me anything I liked. So I took a risk and decided to go online. I was kind of on a budget so I finally decided between a set of MB Battles or XXR 527s. The MBs had the right size but the wrong offset available, so I went with the XXRs in bronze since it's a unique colour that you don't see much and would look good against the paint on the zuk.

3 days later, the rims were at my doorstep. Couldn't believe how fast the shipping was. Time for a test fit.

The rims clear the brakes perfectly and sit flush with the fenders. Time to find some tires. I decided to go with a used set since I'm still in the test fitting stage. I stumbled across a set of Dunlop Direzzas size 225/45R18 and the guy was asking $100 for the set. I made the 2 hour drive to Stonewall and picked them up that day. They were a little bald, about 3/32 of tread left but perfect for what I needed them for. I mounted them on the rims the next day. It decided to snow that weekend so I'd have to wait for it to dry up before mounting on the car  :(

The ground is finally dried up, Time to mount the new rims, test out the fitment, and give the zuk a wash. Very happy with the way it turned out  ;D

Next I decided to add some more stickers so the Jeep ones don't stick out so much. Thanks to Mighty Car Mods and Top Tier Imports for the decals! Also tinted the tail lights with a can of VHT Niteshades. I've been using it for years and it holds up very well.

Not even a week with the new wheels and a semi sideswipes my car while it was parked at work. I always park far away from everything to prevent this but guess it wasn't good enough. The driver rear rim was hit but no damage occurred, just body damage...  :'(  This happened just before the spring awakening BBQ in 2014 so I decided not to go. I now realize that it wouldn't have mattered but I was too upset over the situation.

After dealing with MPI and the body shop, the parts were ordered... from Japan... This could take a while. So I figured this would serve as a temporary fix

So while I waited for the parts to arrive, I decided to paint my brake callipers. Took 1 evening to do the front brakes. FNL was coming up on that Friday and me and @atticus.rascal wanted to go, so we quickly finished up the rears before the meet. Then we made the drive out to Winnipeg. Had an awesome time despite the big dent in the side of my car. Sorry for the terrible pic quality... it was dark and I used an iPhone.

Still waiting for parts to come after about a month... Figured it was time to do some front end mods next. First thing I wanted to do was black out my headlight housings (too much chrome for my taste). Had to take the front bumper off to remove them so I figured I might as well black out the emblem, add some grill mesh, and tint the fogs yellow. The whole thing took me and @atticus.rascal a weekend to do. I posted a how to on the DIY section of the forum. Very happy with the way it turned out.

The parts finally arrived so it was off to the body shop. Moonlight Auto did an awesome job, I am very happy with the work they did. Just in time too, since the Morden c&a car show was coming up. Had a good group of Top Tier guys show up and had an awesome time!

Time for a windshield banner. I was able to find a Suzuki SX4 WRC banner on ebay. Had to ship from Hong Kong but it was exactly what I was looking for. We had never done a banner before so it was a good learning experience. Soap water and a squeegee was definitely the easiest way to do it. Photo bomb cred goes to my bro Tim @atticus.rascal

Since I can't really do much for engine mods due to warranty, I decided to customize the stock engine cover "ihatedecals" style. Used some high heat orange paint as a base coat. I chipped the paint off of the Suzuki logo and added some Japanese styling to it. Ordered these decals from ihatedecals.com. Once the stickers were on, I knew the paint wouldn't stick very well to the plastic so I sprayed about 6 coats of clear plastidip over top. This sealed in the paint and the decals and will keep the paint from chipping.

It's November now and snow is about to fall, figure it's time to switch over to the winter wheels before the shop gets too busy. I got promoted at work earlier this year so I no longer run the automotive shop, but I was still able to borrow the hoist. Makes things go a lot faster. Bring on the snow!

Got the wheels changed just in time, later that week it snowed.

Time for an oil change before it gets too cold out. Could have used the shop again but they would charge me for the labour, so I did it on the driveway with ramps to save some $$$. Wasn't too bad since the heat from the motor kept my hands warm.

So now you're pretty well caught up. Now waiting for spring to come. Some plans for this year include dipping the hood and roof black, and I'm hoping to finally track down a set of coilovers. That wheel gap has got to go! All I've been able to find are Megans and D2s on ebay. It's pretty risky since they cost over a grand for a set and who knows how they would hold up in winter. I'd like coilovers instead of springs so I can adjust the ride height back to stock for winter. If anyone has any ideas please let me know.

                                                quick update:

Just picked up some black vinyl wrap to black out the roof rack. Not really liking the silver. If the wrapping goes well on the rack, I might end up just doing wrap on the roof and hood instead of dip. Planning on getting a roof fairing yet too, kill some of that noise on the highway. Also got some advice on coilovers, might be going with a set of megans. We'll see what happens this spring.

Me and @atticus.rascal took advantage of the snow today did some sliding and shot a few pics. Did some sweet tandem drifting in the Rona parking lot. All away from traffic of course, gotta keep it safe!
