So here is an example of tire wear. My friend had a fwd civic si and all season tires. You can see how the tread was disintegrating.
My problem was that with the new wheels and tires I hadn't tested them before. Turns out they rubbed on the rear fenders when at full throttle turning left and hitting bumps. Here is the worst - the right rear.
And here are pics of the other tires for comparison.
So my day 1 solution was to use my tire iron to roll my fender. Didn't work, still rubbed. I had to get my kid right after, so I was kind of SOL for Saturday. On Sunday I figure I'd rather not bust a tire so I brought a set of vice grips. Using them, some cardboard to protect the inner liner and a clipboard to distribute the force on the outside I completely folded it up. That almost did the trick - I still rubbed just a bit. And honestly the fender looks pretty good. I'll probably need a minor pull just to be safe.
For most of the days we had instructors with us, which put an extra say 50-70 pounds on each corner, and when we were able to go solo my problem magically disappeared! Lol. No instructor = less weight and no rubbing. So I got two decent runs in at the end.
