My story will come after work...

.. but all other things aside, my tires held up very well. There was some minor chunking off the middle of the tread but otherwise held up great.

Any YouTube videos so I can watch and pretend I was driving? I like to watch while I take a bubble bath.

So here is an example of tire wear. My friend had a fwd civic si and all season tires. You can see how the tread was disintegrating.

My problem was that with the new wheels and tires I hadn't tested them before. Turns out they rubbed on the rear fenders when at full throttle turning left and hitting bumps. Here is the worst - the right rear.

And here are pics of the other tires for comparison.

So my day 1 solution was to use my tire iron to roll my fender. Didn't work, still rubbed. I had to get my kid right after, so I was kind of SOL for Saturday. On Sunday I figure I'd rather not bust a tire so I brought a set of vice grips. Using them, some cardboard to protect the inner liner and a clipboard to distribute the force on the outside I completely folded it up. That almost did the trick - I still rubbed just a bit. And honestly the fender looks pretty good. I'll probably need a minor pull just to be safe.

For most of the days we had instructors with us, which put an extra say 50-70 pounds on each corner, and when we were able to go solo my problem magically disappeared! Lol. No instructor = less weight and no rubbing. So I got two decent runs in at the end.

Depending on if I can get a sitter for Saturday, maybe next week after autox. If no autox then maybe this weekend. Gf is in New York for the week so I have to take care of the kid.

Pushing the Miata through the corners was amazing, it was really fun to open the car up and put it through some real racing lines.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is even remotely interested. You will also be completely fine going with a stock vehicle.

I'm thinking about getting on board next year / session. I'm interested to see what I can do with my car inside of its and my restrictions.... and colour of pants.
I don't drive fast, I fly really low.

Only damage was to some bumper clips for the people that went off the track. One guy hit a cone during the slalom exercise and scuffed the front of his bumper. Otherwise that was about it. A few people had mechanical/electrical issues but the cars were 20+ years old. Oh, and Alex broke his axle.

Only a handful of people went off the track but i'm sure that was due to inexperience of driving at the limit or over driving their tires/brakes.

Its not door-to-door racing. You can't pass without a point-by and only on the main straight. Sometimes on the back straight depending on the day / conditions / organizers.

Oh I thought it was pass whenever. So does that mean in theory if the leader of the pack slows down excessively before the turns, everyone else slows down too since its not that the acceptable passing area's?

Yes, correct. While you are there to learn about yourself and your car, moreso to be safe.
